USA=RETARDED(because having cash is apparently illegal)

:lol

:tong

and how is your excuse for carring $3500 in cash any different than other people? again, read the 1st post of this topic and the other examples. it’s really not a hard concept to comprehend what you read.

you should also learn who are the real terrorists against amercia are, isntead of buying into the media bs…

I’m the last person you should be warning about media BS.

My excuse for carrying $3500 is that I had a reasonable reason to do so. I also dont look suspicious. My money would not have been seized. So why would I worry about this law affecting me? I’m in favor of any law that makes it harder to deal drugs which is what this one is. Properly written laws like these have an extremely minor impact on the law-abiding citizens they are designed to protect.

making up legal terms here?

last time i checked you don’t have to justify shit. they need to prove you wrong, you dont need to prove yourself right. you know the whole innocent until proven guilty part.

no doubt someone going around with 10k dollars is an idiot, and will arise some suspsicion but to confiscate without any reasonable charges is quite out of hand.

huh… you start saying that someone doesn’t have to justify why they have 10K+ in cash then call anyone that does that an idiot. I’m not sure of your stance on this.

I dont think you should have to use a card or bank checks for anything, American money should not be taken from ANYONE I tell you this much, pry that cash from my cold dead fucking hands its your right to carry around as much cash as you want, given the recent supreme court ruling on the second amendment, a cop atempting to take my cash is getting shot

Actually its not. Your rights are determined by law and law now says cops can seize an unreasonable amount of cash from your cold dead hands. ;D

a cop atempting to take my cash is getting shot

:rofl LOL Awesome statement, top shelf.

you can’t handle putting together 2 seemingly simple statements?

it is not illegal.
i think someone is stupid to do it, if at all possible not to.

me thinking something is stupid does not equal it is or should be illegal. the statements do not controdict each other…

there sometimes are reasons you happen to have a large amount of money. people pay for cars in cash well over 10k. I would go right to the bank but thats me. the law doesnt state that you have to. the law states you are innocent until they can prove you guilty therefore you dont have to justfiy why you have they money, it is up to them to have to prove it was illegally yours.

wow, don’t need to be a dick about it. Did you read the whole thread? I think it may be you that is not understanding.

do I think there should be a law that says carrying 10K+ in cash is illegal? No
do I think it’s incredibly stupid to carry 10K+ in cash? Yes

dunno what you are trying to get at with your first post. The first post of this thread said that anything over 10K is criminal. So you are right, you don’t have to justify anything. Trying to justifying your 10K in cash wont do you any good. It should be pretty cut and dry… greater than 10K you are guilty, less than 10K you are not guilty. Innocent to proven guilty plays no role in this.

I’m basing everything I’m saying on what was quoted in the first post. So hopefully what was said was accurate.

personally i think this law isnt exactly constitutional, as it involves you pretty much having to prove yourself innocent.

they never said having more than 10k is illegal they said it was automatically subject to confiscation. that usually means that there must be something else associated with that, but the law doesnt state that.

I guess it’s all in how you read it. I read it as criminal = illegal. If thats not true then I’d have to change what I’ve said.

Innocent until proven guilty refers to being charged with a crime.

The police seizing your cash is not a criminal charge, they are just simply allowed to take your cash and make note that it happened. There wont be any penalties above maybe a small fine (up to the state).

i dont get why these laws arent more cut and dry they dont give any type of circumstance.

so they can take your money, note it, and you never get it back even if it is legally yours? theres no checks and balances here.

You can get it back. The only thing that implied that you cant get it back is the dumb bitches in the article in the beginning who were too stupid to go trhough the process to get it back.

ditto + 1

This is the entire article that the original post is based off of:

ohhhh… you gotta be kidding me?!

instead of going through the process of getting your money back they decide to whine and rant about the laws? Amazing!

Increasingly, confiscation raids are turning deadly. On the night of March 12, 1988, Tommie C. Dubose, a civilian naval instructor, was relaxing in his living room in San Diego. Without warning, the police broke down his front door and shot him dead.

The police were acting on a tip that drugs were sold at his house. No drugs were found. And people who knew Dubose said he was strongly opposed to drug use.

Damn! the article says that shooting unarmed people in their houses is LEGAL too!

LOLz

Legalized murder is becoming legalized mass murder. In May 1993, heavily armed Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms (BATF) agents and Federal Bureau of Investigation agents attacked the compound of the Branch Davidians in Waco, Texas, to serve a search warrant for illegal firearms. The 51-day siege ended with eighty-six men, women and children being burned alive after an FBI tank drove through the front door of the compound.

Stupid hippies.

A few years ago, a 65-year-old Alabama physician had his life savings seized by the IRS because of alleged structuring.

The doctor got into trouble when he consolidated his savings at a new bank opened by a friend. The banker made the mistake of suggesting that the doctor deposit his funds gradually, so he wouldn’t have to file CTRs and attract IRS attention. But according to the government, simply acting in a way that falls outside their reporting requirements is itself a crime!
