So I couldn’t help but noticing the 2010 S4 has a supercharged 3.0L V6.
Whats your opinion on this engine and/or drivetrain? I know its new but does it show signs of being an un-reliable platform if kept stock? I’ve heard good things about the 4.2L FSI V8 in the previous S4 and still in the S5’s. I’ve been in love with A5’s and S5’s since the first time I saw one…such a good looking car but I’ve never owned a V-Dub in my life.
Whats everyones opinion on the 2010 S4 and S5? Pile of shit? Not worth it?
i was talking to kieth (owner of apr) at APR at h20i and he said a flash, intake, full exhaust it’ll be 450HP and a pulley will not be nessecary becausethe boost is controlled by the ecu and no need of changing pulleys yet. and will be just like a stage3 b5 s4.
The new S4 3.0 FSI is a hoot to drive. The new motor not only produces more power (up to 333hp) but also weighs less than the 4.2L v8. The new generation Quattro in the S4 however is where the real difference lies. Its now setup to be full time rear bias in almost all scenatios and makes the car MUCH more fun to drive. Gone is the FWD plow feeling you used to get from the AWD. Motor has been moved back to front-midship to further aid in handling. S4 is a great buy right now if someone is comparing it to the aging 335xi platform.
