Valve Cover Gasket Leaking

From what I’ve heard,

many SOHC blocks start to leak engine oil from the
valve covers, due to the worn out gasket. So right now
I got that problem, it doesn’t seem bad, but I’d rather fix it
up.

wondering how much the part would cost,
including the average installation fee of replacing it.

well get the valve cover gasket set, it should be around 25 bucks. i say u dot it ur self its so easy on a ka, unlike the sr u dont have to open any coils or anything.

Yeah, it’s supper easy. My gasket was like 25-30$ and it took me about 30-40 mins including cleaning the valve cover itself.

just follow the order for removing bolts and then reverse it to put it back
super easy and you might as well repaint the valve cover while its off give it a nice new coat!

Dont forget the RTV gasket maker!

EDIT: OHH SORRY I MISSED THE PART WHERE IT SAYS SOHC the above is for DOHC sorry!

haha, SOHC for now…

CA or SR maybe in the near future

^ what everyone else said.

if you’re still nervous or unsure, just look it up in the FSM.

Also, don’t forget to put some RTV in the “half-moon” pieces.
