Valvoline is offering a new guarantee for any vehicle with less then 75,000 miles on it.
150,000 mile one for regular oil
200,000 for blend
300,000 for synthetic.
However after reading the small print on a two page printout (which is pretty impressive for small print), I’ve came to a logical conclusion that nearly nobody will ever have their engine protected by the guarantee however the company will bring it the profit all day long… since it’s guaranteed to them by the offer.
Some of the reasons.
You have to use their oil and only their oil at regular intervals (3000 mile) with only one time when you can go over 3000 miles or it’s void. Yes that includes synthetics, even though BMW and Mercedes and others swear and will only do intervals of 15,000 miles.
You have to be the owner of the vehicle from the start (how many people keep their vehicle for 200,000+ miles without it being crashed or sold?)
You have to use all OE parts
You can’t have any aftermarket acessories/mods on the engine.
Motor can’t be overheated or have any other system cause the engine trouble.
Pretty much all it covers is direct failure due to lack of lubrication in the bottom end, such as bearing fail due to wear, which is not all that common.
