veterinary offices in/around Monroeville/Wilkins twp/Churchill

Hi guys and gals. We lost our two dogs this past year and are getting two new puppies tomorrow. Just wondering if you guys had any suggestions for GOOD vets in our area. We have used Pittsburgh Spay and Vaccination on Sandy Creek in Verona previously but wanted some other options. Thanks

There is a vet on kennywood blvd that i take my rott too, never had a problem with them. what kind of dogs are you getting?

If you are getting a pure-bred, ask the breeder.
We found out the hard way that even a Vet who barely graduated can still be a vet, lol. And they may not be familiar with the breed. It does matter more than you’d think.
Every breed has quirks. We were told by the breeder and by info we’d seen on the net not to let a Vet give all the shots at one time because the breed has problems with that. The Vet said the breeder was nuts. Sure enough, 2 weeks later, our female couldn’t walk. We took her to the Vet that gave the shots and he totally misdiagnosed what was wrong. We then went back to the breeder, who gave us the “I told you so” speech and he then sent us to a Vet familiar with the breed… who told us the first Vet was a moron. And he fixed her right up and she’s not had a problem since.
There are only two vets in the area I’d see for my breed. One is Dr. Mike out in Cranberry. Too far to drive but a great Vet.
The other is Dr. Lisa at Countryside Vets on Rte. 30 almost to Irwin.
But again, they see a lot of my dog’s breed (Weimaraner), so I can’t say they’d be as great for a breed they may not be as familiar with. But I’d guess they would be good regardless. Awesome people who really care about your animal.

vet clinic on 65 in bellvue did a nice job for me…

Not for regular practice but in case of emergency: http://www.avets.us/

My brother has been working there for about 10 years. Good people!

Call me crazy but I go to Dr. Geary in Lemont Furnace (near Uniontown). He is very good and is a relative of mine. He helped me out a lot when my last cat was very sick. I must have been there a few times a week for a while until I had to put the kitty to sleep. There is another vet in his office, Dr. Brewer who is good as well. I’ve been meaning to find a vet that’s not so far since we moved so I’m in for recommendations as well.

there is a vet in penn hills on frankstown rd its over near the getgo i think its dr kurnick that is where my parents take my dog he is a very nice guy
