Basically a buddy of mine here bought a brand new one. He doesn’t want to run the stock wheels/tires through winter, so he was considering buying a 16" wheel off of the S40 AWD… this way the snows will be cheaper, and skinnier, and they will work on his AWD.
Will they clear the brakes? Are they the same bolt pattern?
I don’t have access to any of this information from work, so anything ya got would be much appreciated.
Secondly… think I could take him on stock boost? his car is lighter and makes ~300/300 … but is about 400lbs lighter. He isn’t a pro @ shifting (not like me at least ) so I don’t think “driving” will really be against me…
I’d like to beat him on “stock” boost… and then smoke him @ high boost (spike to 15, then back to stock)
Thanks

How big are the rotors? If they are 13" then more than likely 16s wont fit.
Hard to say though without knowing backspacing, rotor size, etc…

Stopping comes via huge Brembo 330 mm ventilated front and rear discs with aluminum 4-rotor calipers.
300 * 0.0393700787" = 11.8110236"
So 11.8" rotors… all around…
but the Caliper is a 4 piston caliper. I don’t know how big that is, something tells me it won’t fit…

One thing I noticed when I rode in the S60R is that it had one meaty ass powerband.
Cruising around in 5th at like 2k RPM he hit it and it still pulled hard.

see now i was reading up and it said 330 mm brakes.
330mm is 13 inchers. yes i said inchers. :gotme:
front rims on a s60-r stock is 17x8, back is 18x8.
I joined a volvo forum and am asking right now
i am a member of the weirdest collection of forums ever.
i cant believe im going through this much trouble for a damned volvo
P.S.- Huge Brembos wouldnt be 11.8 Inches Howie
I gotz 11’s on my jetta…no wait maybe they 8’s, but I keep em real clean.
