Got most of my DIY BBK in today*WOW*

Needless to say, I’m excited.

Look at these monster calipers(They are Honda Accord wagon calipers, the same as an Integra type R!)

BNIB!

And for comparison:

Haha this is gonna be awesome!

Best $230 bucks I spent! (hell I even got new rear rotors and pads for that price!)

cool.

Nice yooz, haha you’ll get that better braking you need with that monster.

It’s the cooling I really needed, the new rotors I bought(Which aren’t here yet are much thicker and have bigger vents.)

Do you need a bigger booster for that setup?

probably not a bigger booster, but a bigger master cylinder…

I’ve heard people just ran the stock master cylinder.

its gonna feel pretty much EXACTLY the same… and any improved pedal feel will most likely be due to new fluid or ss lines…

the calipers look almost 50% bigger and the rotors are a lot better

wouldnt it stop better?

and they also won’t be on fire/sparking… which is pretty much the reason he bought new brakes lol

No… you are displacing a larger piston. The ratio to master cylinder to calipers is thrown off. You probably will actually lose some feel. BBK kits cost more because of the R&D to keep the displaced volume about the same and increase the sweep area. Also multiple small pistons>single large floating caliper.

P=F/A, you have the same force and a larger area… you do the math.

so if he were to get a larger master cylinder, for what the brakes are designed for…(integra) would it be better for him to do that?

probably, you have to find the ratio of the master cylinder piston to the caliper piston.

The real MC for these is 1" but I’m going with a 15/16" upgrade. The current one is like 13/16"s

also go with stainless steel brake lines, brake upgrades are useless on rubber lines

Yeah, well I’m ordering a proportioning valve, the braided lines, a DA integra Brake booster+ integra 15/16" MC.

how is the 15/16" an upgrade? it will increase the travel and will require less pedal pressure to lock them.

unless the accord rear piston sizes are larger than what you have on the rear of the car, id go with 1"

my car stock is 7/8" and i went with 1 1/8" but i also went with 10mm larger piston calipers and discs in the back (larger piston area than the wheel cyl’s in the drum setup) and the pedal feel is awesome. its stiff but real easy to modulate.

Brian

Because 15/16" is what bolts up, and that’s all anyone does on honda-tech.

Also, this may make sense. I have Integra rear brakes and I’m adding Integra front brakes.

The 15/16" MC and brake booster are from an Integra.

Question:
Are Ebay SS brake lines any good? If not wheres a good spot to grab them for cheap.

you want ss hoses with a PVC covering over the SS braids… otherwise dirt gets trapped in the braids and can cause them to wear quickly and spring leaks…

it doesnt amtter if they are for sale on ebay, only the brand matters… stoptech is good… noname is generally bad

that makes total sense.

Good Stuff.
