Cliffs: Vote for Creekside Village @ UB! Pepsi is giving away $ to the top 10 voted ideas in the nation, all of which must benefit the environment in some way. I know some of the members on here live in the complex, so help us out!
Details:
Pepsi is running a “refresh project” where 10 Communities around America can win $$ to build something beneficial to the environment on the basis of health, energy and aesthetics.
We are proposing to build a community garden here at Creekside Village on UB Campus. We are a LEED certified community, and are looking to further the “green” philosophy. The money proposed would create a few summer jobs as well.
Other goals:
- Create a community garden for students in the complex
- Allow students to grow food to allow for self sustainability
- Create programs that educate students on sustainable lifestyles
- Expand the garden program to other complexes & residence halls
- Eventually have a garden to sustain the food service program at UB
