I’ve had this motor fogged and properly stored in my garage waiting for a project that never happened. I purchased it from user PAC1085 (great guy if you don’t know him) last spring. The setup is very well done and you can tell Phil took his time with everything. A summary can be seen at his blog here: http://blog.no-skill.com/

I also have videos of the engine running and all documents for the build. Now, on to the details:

2008cc AEB Stroker $1900 OBO, picked up.
(~20,000 miles since build)

AEB head casting from a 97 1.8t

  • Head consists of stock components, and was rebuilt by Drakes.
  • Installed new cam chain tensioner ($$) and chain at same time.

058 block casting from a 98 1.8t
-Machine work done by Proformance, assembled & grinding for rod clearance by Phil.
-Block was sonic checked (I have the printout) and bored/honed with a torque plate
-All of the gaskets and most of the bolts were replaced with new when the engine was built.

Components:
-Forged OBD-I ABA crankshaft
-Wiseco custom forged pistons (8.5:1 CR) with ceramic coated dome/coated skirts. I have the custom order spec sheet.
-ALT head gasket
-SCAT 144 / 20mm Rods w/ ARP pro series 2000 alloy bolts
-Main bearings, rod bearings and I/M shaft bearings coated with swain tech ppm
-I/M shaft lightened, balanced and clearanced for stroker by Jarod @ SCCH-Heads
-ARP Main Studs

Ugh… and I never did find the time to say hi to the old girl.

I’m back again in August for another week. I hope to god it sells by then so I stop toiling over where to store that turd for an indefinite period of time.

im thinking of keeping it to drive in the winter. I’d rather not drive my Bimmer in the snow. If someone offers me money i would take it.
