Wagons

They do look to sit higher than the Whispbars as those seem to sit between the rails rather than just above them like the Aeroblades.

Thank you for showing the comparison. They should be in today/tomorrow.

This was the part I needed to replace on the Force XT XXL box I have. A little stressful when applying the new one as I had to use a C clamp to get it on and did not want it to break the same way. But shit, $35 for this part to fix my $100 box, I’ll take it! haha

Just to show the comparison between the Aeroblades and the Whispbars. It’s sad that just that little bit makes such a difference on the clamps for the cargo box.
Crappy part for the Aeroblades that I got used is that the plastic covers are kind of loose. I like that the Whispbar plastic covers slide into place where as the aeroblade plastic covers only are held down by the lock or plastic twist piece if you don’t have a lock.

How do you like the Thule Aeroblades? I was thinking of getting them for the Tiguan but I don’t want anything that sits up too high.

I haven’t mounted the box yet, however when it comes to sound I don’t notice it at all.
Definitely skip the Yakima Whispbars as they will probably be the same situation for you. If you keep an eye out you can probably get a used set for about $300 or less. $300 being good condition. You may find a cheaper deal if you wait around enough.
Once I get the cargo box back on I’ll take another photo and post so you can compare the whispbar and aeroblade difference in height compared to the roof of the car. I wanted low profile as well.

Car-ID actually has the cross bar kit for $279 so I might go that route.

Check that pricing again, that may only be for one blade, not 2.

So the JB4 is instead and running on Map 2 currently. Awesome company though, I logged 3 pulls in 3rd gear and sent them off to BMS to see if they’d get back to me at all. George is awesome. He sent back saying everything looks great but also gave me a custom map to put in based on my logs and to relog and get back to him again to adjust from there.

This is what Map 2 looked like on my Alltrack.

That’s retarded.

I ordered but I’m canceling it, I assumed it was for a pair because…why the hell would you buy one?

Well to be fair,

I’d be one of those people buying 1 separate from the other as the Alltrack and Sportwagen use a Medium size up front and a small size in back. Definitely check on that with your car as I know it’s a VW. Not sure if they required 2 different sizes as well.

So going back to my previous comment, you can probably find a used set for about $300 in mint shape with locks. I had mine shipped from Kansas from someone on Market place for $225 shipped but no locks on them. Surprisingly 2 sizes.

If your rails run taller, I still have the yakima Whispbars at my house. 2 medium and 1 small. I can’t use them because of how low the rails are on my car and the clamps of the box resting on the roof.
You are welcome to try them if you’d like as well, just text me.

I made my own roof racks out of left over steel I had sitting outside lol

I’ve been on a classic wagon kick, I might try to snag something cool over the winter for next summer…

I’ll have to find the photo when I get home but there was a Yellow older wagon at the Cruise into Kenmore that I really loved. Guy had it done absolutely mint and just seemed like such a nice family wagon. I’ll see if I can figure out what kind it was again.

A bunny face with fart cannons.

Yeah, I just can’t with BMW’s current styling. E46 was peak BMW for me and everything since has been in the wrong direction IMO. That front end on that wagon is terrible.

Their direct competition:

^ I’d take that Audi all day long over the BMW. I don’t even care what the performance specs are

BMWs never did it for me, it’s the only car brand that I’ve honestly never wanted to buy.
