I did want the Motion but the Force does flow nice with the black plastic trim around the bottom of the Alltrack.
We will see, maybe one day I’ll get R suspension or something to lower it a bit. Just like the thought of having that little extra ground clearance for snow. Also any offroad ability. Still feel I need to replace the oil pan either way, not sure why anyone would put a plastic oil pan on a vehicle. Especially a car made for on and off road ventures.
Did you ever upgrade the sway bar? Not sure if the Sportwagen and Alltrack have the same. If they do, this is a huge upgrade I highly suggest. I’m sure it is more noticeable in the Alltrack but damn did it really put a smile on my face. The OEM one is 21mm hollow from my understanding, the H&R is a solid 25mm.
Someone has an RS6 Avant in my neighborhood. I’ve seen it twice now on North Forest.
Same color as this one.
They are probably at the top of my want list when it comes to any and all wagons created. They looks so nice. However, I am not a fan of the price tag. lol $119k roughly without adding options if you want anything else optioned out.
My S5 was 55% off it’s original sticker price when I bought it, and it was only 3 years old with 20k miles and a CPO warranty. So my guess is you’ll be able to pickup an RS6 for considerably less in the next couple years.
There’s 3 near me. White/red/silver. I’ll be coppin’ when I get that 55% off sale, lol. It’s the ultimate wagon, even if you can’t row gears.
I did. GSW is 19mm hollow, so even smaller. First mod was Golf R RSB on stock endlinks. I actually have a HR 24mm and moog’s on the bench, so im eager to see what this next upgrade will bring me, especially on the Bilstein B14’s.
Here’s the motion XT L on the car. I plan to wind down the rear B14’s a few threads, and maybe shift the box back a few inches, but its sitting pretty.
Looking really nice. Mind me asking what kind of deal you got on the box? They are still selling used for like $100-150 off MSRP as you just can’t find them anywhere or really any used ones. I was debating to put the one I got back up for sale to get the XL instead of the XXL but the XXL might come handy while having a toddler next summer. Figure all the room I’ll have for camping gear or any traveling stuff.
BNIB @ $500. Cherry. Decent deal.
@JayS I spotted that RS6 avant on the 190 the other day. Definitely a head turner.
Some how managed to find $225 shipped for used Thule Aeroblades in the sizes I needed. 7501 and 7502. These better work or I’m going to be extremely disappointed. I’ve seen people posting that they are using these with the same cargo boxes but I still have no clue how much taller they are than the whispbars.
I found my Thule Ascent 1100 on craigslist. Funny enough it ended up being my neighbor 3 houses down selling it. We walked it back to my garage when I bought it. Hilariously small world sometimes. Paid $200 a bunch of years ago and other than having to peel a lot of lame stickers off it was perfect.
I got it for the GTO since the seats didn’t fold down for loading skis. Now since the Audi seats do fold down and fit skis no problem it hangs from the ceiling in my garage and gets used maybe 1 or 2 weeks a year if we go on vacation and the SUV gets too full.
I have a nice mat in my car that would work great with throwing my snowboard in the car but I’m done with the marks it left on my GTI so I wanted a cargo box to carry around at least 2 of them so I can switch up if I want. It’s a big excessive for a snowboard with the Force XXL but at least I have it for when we do camping trips or longer road trips. I’m about to install a hoist in my garage to put this thing up in the rafters and out of the way at least. It takes up entirely way too much room if it’s not in the rafters. haha.
Where do you ski? Super excited to see Holiday Valley getting the high speed chair ready for Yodeler this years. It is probably the best investment they’ve done in a while. Hopefully soon they start making the lines better leading up to the lifts along with the RFID cards to get through the gates. (Not sure why they haven’t pulled the trigger on that yet as that would save them from people not paying as they never check passes)
We’re Holiday Valley season pass holders. Just renewed before the price went up on 9/15. We usually go twice a week, one night during the week and then either Sat or Sun morning for first tracks until 1-2pm when it starts getting busy. Usually park up at Tannenbaum and toss our cooler upstairs to have later at lunch. Last year with the lodges being all Cov-tarded we just look my wife’s SUV everytime and parked at Chute. Changed in the car and had lunch in the car. It was our little mobile lodge and on the really cold days I’d remote start it with OnStar while we were skiing back to it so it was nice and warm when we got there.
And yeah, SUPER excited for the new lift at Yodeler. Hoping they’ll be back to 4 people per chair because the “only ride with your group” shit last year really killed the efficiency of the lifts. Weekends we’d hit the Mardi Gras/Yodeler/Morning Star lift runs early, work our way over to Cindys and the Wall, then work back to Chute/Eagle when the lines got bad. Chute and Eagle rarely get busy.
I’m a Sunday night pass holder. It was hit or miss on the nights but on select nice nights, man it SUCKED!! We’d typically ride Cindy’s and Sunrise to get away from lines. Morning Star was also a shit show a lot of the time. My biggest gripe with HV is the lines, especially during covid. What is so hard to setup established rope lines to corral everyone and keep the lines nice and neat and not a fight to see who can get in front of who before the short barriers they had for lines.
We also used the cars last year. We brought chairs and tables and setup a little powwow behind Yodeler in the parking lot and had some chilly and other hot foods along with a few beers. Usually our go to was Slope Side Bar which we made friends with the owner, but I think we may do this a little more this year to both save money and time.
If you ever find yourself ending up out there on a sunday night later than 2:30, feel free to let me know and meet up for a run or two.
I don’t think I’ve ever been there on a Sunday night, but if it happens I’ll hit you up.
That’s probably the most skied off that place will be out of the 7 days.
:snky:
Wave next time, would ya?
Oh shit seriously? Nice!
