I have seen SuperTech full synthetic credited to Pennzoil, Quaker State, and Exxon, all of which are most likely speculation. You can put in the individual product info here to find out some info on your actual gallon:

Note that in many cases these kinds of “Generic” or Store Branded oils may use different manufacturers at different times or even a blend of multiple manufacturers because they will often just source the cheapest oil and when you’re buying in the thousands of gallons, that price is going to fluctuate for different oils at different times. It may also be that the “manufacturer” listed for the generic brand is just a distribution/labelling center, so while you might be getting Pennzoil blended with some leftover Wolf’s Head, you would just see it as “XYZ Distributions,” which wouldn’t really tell you who the manufacturer is.
This is relevant for the Wal-Mart oils as one of Wal-Mart’s biggest suppliers is “Warren Distributing.” That company has stated that they actually blend oils from base stocks and use their own additives so you are not, in that case, buying re-labelled oil from a known manufacturer. From what I know Warren only handles Wal-Marts dino oil, so the Synthetic manufacturer is as yet unknown to me, but I haven’t checked the MSDS for any SuperTech Synthetic so it may be Warren.
Keep in mind that even if you tracked down that it was Pennzoil/Exxon/Castrol/whoever making that particular batch of Super Tech oil, it would be a fallacy to assume that you’re getting a gallon of their commercially available full synthetic for $13. There are a lot of different additive packages and formulas that any given company will use in their lubricants and you may be getting something different than they put on the shelf under their own name.
In any case let us know what you find out!
