you don’t have to ditch AT&T, just put your sim card in a nexus4 and enjoy…
some of us aren’t lucky enough to have a grandfathered plan on a GSM carrier… I’m on fucking sprint @ 79.99/mo unlimited plan, but after taxes and fees it’s fucking $92/mo

I’m at $110 a month for 3 smartphones with unlimited data and text and 82 billion rollover minutes. Only thing that sucks is that voice calls are roaming outside the East coast. Data and text are still free though so it’s not that hard to ignore the call and text back, or call back on my work phone, when I’m in Vegas or Cali.
Ok, I have one more thing to add here.
In regards to warranty support and getting a new phone, it is not an instant process. Most people freak the fuck out being without their phone for an hour, let alone the 3 weeks it takes to send it to a mfg for repair (like i had to).
Oh, you are used to the carrier supporting the warranty? yea, dont expect that from this.
I’ve read of people keeping a $10/mo plan with a major just to get free upgrades on new phones and support etc…
Factory unlocked GSM Galaxy Nexus. I know a few iPhone users that are happy with the service, they happen to live in an area with much better tower coverage than my area.
I should add this:

I have sprint, 2 iPhone 4S unlimited data, text, 500 anytime minutes, $125 after taxes and everything
But everyone says it sucks, so I guess it must
for all of you swearing you need unlimited data, how much data do you actually use?
i have 7 smart phones on my acct and we use on average a little more than 8 gigs a month… thats with me averaging over 3 because i drive close to 700 miles a week and listen to pandora whenever im in the car
without a discount thats 380 a month on vzw divide that by 7 and thats about 55 + tax and most peoople get a discount from their employer
hell with 10 ppl on a share plan with 2 gigs each its 550 = 55 + taxes for imo the best service you can get
I use my phone a lot and travel a lot and I very rarely go over 3Gb of data.
FUCK Walmart.
Fuck it.
I mean no one store is going to be able compete with the buying power of someone getting 1000000000x their amount for stores worldwide.
It’s easiest to see in a small town. I always use the same example, Watkins Glen, because it’s close by and has a race track and we’re all car people.
This year it bounced back a bit, but for a year or two prior it was straight up DEPRESSING to be there. Still LITTERED with vacancy.
Wal-mart moved in just off the main drag. Service shops, hardware stores, clothing stores, small shops, ALL CLOSED.
so then you have former business OWNERS who can’t afford to keep thier biz. Lose the biz, lose your job. Lose your building. Credit shot, you’re fucked.
The lender is fucked, now they’re out on the lien, foreclosures cost $$$, and in a depressed economy someone else isn’t going to just take over.
So people get jobs at walmart, same place that put them out. Only, they’re making a FRACTION of what they were before
city loses out on tax income
services lose out on tax money
wal-mart wins
people lose
the town has the ability to not allow a store like that and walmart is not a new concept This is capitalism and democracy working.
I would rather have the main st filled with higher end places. Doesn’t mean I don’t feel a little bad for any owners who lost their profitability, I just wouldn’t change anything.
do you know how hard it is to keep walmart out of somewhere they want to be in?
I am really appalled that someone is trying to defend their business model.
$45 isnt that great a deal though, considering cricket offers the same plan with unlimited international for the iPhone5 for $55/mo. You have to deal with sprints network but i’d gladly pay the extra $10/mo to stay away from wally world.
You also need to add the cost of the phone into the deal.
I still think theblue hates America
sometimes you do, a lot of people already have a phone.
If you do the full iphone from walmart as part of this it’s still like a $300 in savings over two years. Walmart is also offering interest free financing where you pay $25 a month towards the phone, that’s pretty attractive in some ways.
I still have unlimited data threw at and t original iPhone customer here, decides to keep my plan that way, I pay $159 a month for 700mins and unlimited messaging, unlimited data and 2gig data for both phones. IMO it all works out for me.
I have unlimited data threw and threw too.
Unlimited data is joke for most people anyways.
The vast majority of people don’t need it.
On the note of cricket:
A guy I work with has the iphone 3 on cricket and the minute we are out of syracuse or rochester he has zero service…always dropping calls.
I pay just over $100 for 2 gigs of data and unlimited minutes. One S3 through verizon. It sucks but I need a phone for work.
