Want to Borrow: S13 SR20 AEM EMS

Sasha and I are trying to trouble shoot an issue on an S13 SR20 and we’d like to know if there is someone out there in the GTA that would be willing to let us strap an AEM EMS ecu into the car for a few minutes to do a diagnostics on it.

if there is someone who is willing to do it we can arrange for compensation.

We just dont want to go right ahead and drop $1500 - $1800 if the issues are otherwise solvable.

what ever is wrong , whatever diagnostics u have to do can be done with a test light , noid light or and multimeter , should maybe look at talking to gonad to see if he will loan them his data link cable , and u should also hook up your diagnostic port , there are a multitude of things that can be done to figure out what is wrong, or like i said , do some real diagnostics on the thing bing , your problem shouldnt be beyond any mechanic

Well I believe it is in Bings best interest to get an AEM in the first place however he feels that he doens’t want to drop the money unless it fixes the problems with his car for sure. While i dont think bolting an AEM in will instantly fix the problems i think it will show them in a matter of seconds, I will make the simple wiring repairs or sensor swaps and we’ll be golden.

Bing would like to borrow an AEM first though to confirm this is this case and I totally understand that so if anyone has one they could lend us for a day Bing would be willing to compensate for the peace of mind you are providing.

I could ohm out the entire harness and check for shorts in all sensor wires and test each sensor but it would end up costing bing the price of an AEM very very quickly, not only that but AEMs are gangster baller status and we all know that is the very thing bing is after :slight_smile:

A Datalink would make things easier though.

Is the consult part of the engine wiring harness hooked up through the dash plug?

If it is, I can -try- to borrow my friend’s laptop with consult and connector.

I’m not sure i’d have to ask bing it was wired by a dude in the states.

im not too sure but one would assume without looking at the wiring diagrams that the consult port wires would all attach to the ECM , with the exception of the power and ground … but thats just an assumption

I dont think i am going to get an EMS just yet… i just want to clear up the issues at hand first then upgrade to an EMS.

it’s more than that too H, when you combine the gremlins with all the stupid bullshit that was not hooked up properly from the initial install it is enough to ruin any motivation to work on the thing.

all of the ridiculous easy-street solutions have been proven ineffective.

i understand there is gremlins and all types of things wrong , but i also know that u still havent had a mechanic work on your car , yea , Chris knows his shit , yea the guy in the U.S. knows his shit , yes i know sasha knows his shit, but has anyone run a proper diagnostic on your car ?

the answers to your problem will be so goddamn simple that u will probably shit yourself when it is figured out , there is no such thing as a hard solution, its all simple , its just time consumeing thats all, i just dont see how what … 2 years of problems cant be solved by these so called guru’s of the nissan kingdom… it seems a bit ridiculous to me … hopefully sasha figures it all out , i really want to see ur shit work

What is the problem in the first place? I might have missed it but I didnt see a detailed discription of the issue in any of the posts above.

It runs like shit, and sometimes it runs really shitty, and other times it runs not so shitty.

agreed, if you let us know as to what the issue is maybe us the elite nissan guru’s can come up with a solution.

If it doesn’t really run all that decent on the stock ECU, chances are it won’t be any better on the EMS.

If anything you’re just temporarily band-aiding a much worse problem.

Comperssion? MAF? O2? TPS? CTS? Ignitor? Coilpacks?

Do those all check out OK?
