sore loser?
I just admitted the other team built a better car
Pull the E-brake? You think we actually had a functional e-brake?! hahahaha
Sasha, I think you’re just pissed at the fact that you were pulled from being a judge on the show because the producers found out you lied through your teeth when you told them you were a “big time drifter for Nissan”! Ooops…sorry, but I couldn’t resist setting them straight on that one. Someone is being a sore loser alright
Bing, how am I supposed to know how your goofy parts go in? YOU are the one I asked before putting any of those parts in, then let you put them in place before I got to tightening everything up. YOU are the guy that convinced everyone you were such a hardcore 240sx guy, yet when it came down to it you were just learning as you went.
Honestly guys, think about it. Big brake rotors and calipers up front along with steel braided brake lines…then, in the rear you have old brake hoses with all OEM rotors, calipers, and pads. DUH. I was floored when the steel braided lines came and there was only TWO OF THEM. Bing thought nothing of it. hahaha unreal.
About the exhaust, who puts a 3" exhaust on an N/A car with less than 150 hp? Even my girlfriend was laughing when she found that out! hahaha
I gave Bing shit about the body kit because our team had nothing at that point, then the goof goes ahead and gives our kit away to the other team. Honestly, that’s stupid. Up until that point it was the other two guys on our team hassling him, but I couldnt’ take it anymore once that happened.
and the parts, as goofy as you think they are, are working great on some of the top cars competing in Drift Mania this year.
i agree that the exhuast was too much for the car, but as mentioned i was the only person in the country who had an exhuast for the car and there certianly isnt any 2.5" off the shelf exhuast for the S13 that can be had readily anyways.
it also happens as mentioned in the video that no one could get the kits in time that we wanted. so i contacted some of our boys on here and we had a pair of kits in a matter of hours… btw, you agreed that the kit we got was better and so does anyone else who sees it.
you kow yourself that the GP Sports kit is stupid for what we were doing.
you were just arguing for the sake of arguing.
and hey, i got to pocket a few grand along with Andrew / Varun / even bob…lol
so in the end i dont think it is really possible to hurt my feelings over it.
I will say something considering that Bing basically rebuilt the car I built on the show, whether it was intentional or not.
That car without an alignment, or a functioning ebrake, isn’t going to be easy to slide. It was only after getting the car properly aligned that my car came together enough to slide it in dry with very little problems.
Clearly if you dont have that alignment or an ebrake, braking is going to be your only other ally, which is pretty tough considering he had the bias issue.
if the answer is yes, then it just means you werent consistent so stop making excuses is all i’m saying.
no need to get offensive man, when i posted i wasnt even thinking about he juding at all, but its nice to you went out of your way to tell them that i’m really not all that other people hyped me up to be. Not that I really understand why you’d do that unless you have somethign against me.
Well obviously you’re not reasonable enough to see reality clearly so i’m just going to stop posting now and let you believe that had you an alignment and more rear brake bias you would have not spun out or flown off the track at all.
who lurks in the silence watching…waiting…cooking the rice for dinner…
It still was a fun show… IMO the red car was hands down a nicer car…though the vote results were changed, cause it was a larger spread than what they showed on TV… WAY larger
I’ve ran a 3 inch exhaust for 2 seasons on the SOHC. Deal with the brake bias. I don’t even know why you are defending yourself migs, you’re a decent driver. Leave it at that.
I have the sudden urge to just say I won ,I won ,I won…But most of you know I am not one to talk alot of sh*t or be cocky.
Also I am not one to get all caught up in arguments or drama, which is why I did not post on SON that much last year. (It is not like that anymore, thank you people) I do my best to focus on what I am doing.
For those who saw the show you may have noticed I hardly spoke on camera at all unless they asked me to.
When we were not working on the car because of filming I was thinking about what my next plan of action was going to be when we got back to work. This explains the blank look on my face in a few of the scenes. I could have cared les about the show I just wanted to build a car.
My point is, and Mig’s said it on the show a few times “stay focused” My team did, we did not argue and we got the job done.
As far as who is the better driver? I could not say who was or is the better driver, and be truthfull about it. I have not seen Mig’s drive enough to say that he is btter then I or I am better then him.
I would love to have the chance to have a FRIENDLY comp against Migs at track day, not that I have anything to prove but I think it would be fun.
All in all the show was a good time, a great experience and a good chance to show what I can do to a car in three days with the right people helping me of course.
yeah, by watching the show you definately dont get a true appreciation for what Chris did with that white car.
i mean, chris and i actually owned that white car… i drove it for a few months to university with no plates = no parking tickets…lol
when you think of how long people usually take to do engine swaps and then consider how clean the engine bay was afterwards and then consider that chris fabricated the 3" test pipe with flanges and then extended the entire exhaust and made up the intercooler piping and everything else he did and then consider that he really only had 2.5 days of time to do it all in… you kind of get the idea of who to go to for an SR swap.
Lets take this back 4 years ago, to the first drift nation. It was a beautiful sunny day, engines roaring, tires burning. Yes, we were adjusting idle on iquabob’s sr right before he went out. Then migs comes up to us and goes “I’ve done done my own SR swap, do you guys want some help” in a very cocky manner.
Never liked the guy since, first impressions last So let me just recap everything in this thread.
Migs is a cocky bastard, who can’t drive.
Bing doesn’t know what he’s doing - hah.
Chris is a good driver and a good mechanic.
“but i guess the judges couldnt get under our car to see where all the work went anyways”
I was fully aware of what you guys did suspension wise, however IMO replacing the stock suspension arms has no benefit, as long as you have adjustment with camber which you can get by using coilovers, all those replacement arms do is add complexity, to a VERY robust and engineered stock system.
you want a wide adjustability in camber, and the ability to run high spring rates…thats what you want from our suspensions…those arms do nothing for you in terms of speed…
and in a large part thats why your team lost…PLUS just cleaning up a 400kk sohc motor and saying its up to task …
the other team did it all very well, interior, exterior, and power, within a very tight time frame…
oh yeah, i dont disagree that the engine was lackluster…lol
that was the point though, to prove that you dont need power to drift. there are a variety of competitors in DM and other intermediate levels of competitive drift in the US that run stock KA and remain competitive.
last year at the DM event i was in at least 4 of the last ten guys were totally stock KA including Kendrick from Ontario. the guy that came 4th was completely stock.
im sure most will agree that suspension is far more important for drift than engine and as old as the engine was with 400k on it the suspension was also all original.
had our differential made it on time our car was most certainly better set up for drift what with the suspension and brakes and was most certianly more in line with current styling techniques what with proper offset wheels, the camber (however non-functional it was) as opposed to a gaudy kit and 7" wide wheels, not that the wheels were by choise for the red team.
absolutely though, the red teams car was by far the better show car, the interior was so nice that i will go to paul to have mine done if i ever decide to do it and Chris’s work speaks for itself on that car and on my personal car.
however, the response to the WOTW thread that i made with detailed pics of both cars yeilded more positive repsonse from 240sx owners for the blue teams car and the ebay auction for the blue teams car yielded several thousands more in the bidding on ebay even though neither one reach reserve.
i have not been following the subsequent auctions for the cars however the show’s producer has been sending potential buyers my way to get a better description of the cars.
i’ve been telling people that the red / white car is the only one worth buying to own, the blue teams are is only worth the parts… evne an engine wont do it any good after the damage it sustained on the track
