Secondly what the media doesn’t report is the negative consequences of the legalization of marijuana. My father’s best friend is a Sheriff in Denver. He can’t believe the mess it’s made of so many people, high all the time, losing their jobs, more accidents, no motivation, and a rise in the increase of experimentation with more powerful substances. He said in his own opinion it isn’t worth the extra tax revenue. He also lost his own son. He didn’t die, but after it became legal he went from smoking (illegally) a couple times of week before bed to before work, during work, after work, eventually losing his home, his job, and turning his back on his family. The last he has seen of his son was months ago, he now works as a “freelance handyman” and lives with three other men, all four of them who now use hard drugs.

this dude has been pretty busy for a guy that’s high all the time.

Apprently the weed that you can get isn’t like the stuff that used to be around. The shit is as potent and strong as it gets, for some stuff going around 700-1000$ an ounce (for those of you that aren’t familiar, an ounce may trend around 300-400). It doesn’t mellow people out, it makes them paranoid and schizophrenic (spelling??) as well as causing hallucinations…

this i find interesting. the stuff that is in regular illegal circulation is one thing but i know some dudes that are total chronic and are high to varying degrees for all of their waking hours. when you smoke that much you start to consider things like taste, smell, burn etc. in addition to all of the elements of the high.

to my mind it will start a whole bunch of sub-genres or styles just like the craft beer industry except, and correct me if i’m wrong about this, but most alcohol highs (buzzes?) are essentially the same with varying severities of hang over right? whereas the difference in highs between various brands of marijuana is almost infinite.

and yes it will lead to all kinds of experimentation by lacing it with other drugs… just like mixed drinks.

there is this dude that i haven’t met yet but is ex-military, is the brother in law of an employee and a friend through a friend has PTSD and gets $450 of medical marijauna for free every month… i dont know about you but $450 of free anything a month is a lot… let alone weed. can’t wait to meet him

Judges, attorneys, cops, teachers… the list goes on, and on. Since they’re not burnouts, people don’t realize they smoke/use.

if we’re going to throw alcohol into the mix I know a bunch of doctors and lawyers who love to booze… But that doesn’t count! It’s legal, DUH (and one of only 2 drugs in the world that can kill an addict via withdrawl, alongside benzodiazepines)

seriously, anyone that is against legalization is a dickhead because it is non of your business what the person next to you wants to do with their life. Drugs exist and are used by plenty of people regardless of whether or not it is legal. Our country is in trouble because it spends obscene amounts of money trying to impose and enforce too many rules on society…If they were smart, they’d legalize ALL drugs and create shops where they could sell off all the shit they’ve confiscated and tax the fuck out of it. Surely that would put a major dent in our national debt.

Remember the asset forfeiture discussion? where police departments confiscate drugs and the government gives them money for it and then the police use that money to fund operations and such? That means we’re paying police to actively enforce the war on drugs, and then paying them a fuckton of money for the drugs they take off the street that already cost a fortune in staff/time to get it in the first place. If that all stopped…think about that…
