My first official resurrection is a success…a 50’s era ladies wristwatch with Bulova 5AD movement. Running a little erratic…but surprisingly well…
Some materials came in so I spent some time assembling another frankenwatch…
Couple more restoration candidates arrived as well.
Are you finding it pretty easy to take apart these automatic movements and reassemble them properly? My biggest concern would be forgetting where everything goes.
I invested in a digital microscope with photo / vid capabilities. After awhile you learn the basic assembly steps that don’t vary much. Of course different movements have their quirks. Learn something new on every one. The real challenge is picking up tricks to make assembly operations better.
I remember years ago being impressed that you rebuild your Z transmission yourself. This is the logical progression, lol.
