A huge shout out to @1QIKZ for helping me out on this one. He did his magic and in record time. Super pumped about this one and it looks better than new.
that’s a nice piece. love speedies.
Thanks Ultra for letting me put my dick beaters on your Omega for you. Mulled over just keeping it for myself a couple times but it was a little tight on my wrist. Glad you like it and enjoy it. It’s a nice one for sure.
what work did you do to it? a full service or just exterior work?
Just a brighten up of the exterior surfaces. Lubes the case seal, cleaned the band and case, polished and re-brushed. Didn’t go full restore as I figured when it finally needs a service that would be a better time for it. Was running like a Swiss watch when I got it so I left it alone.
id put rolex above audemars. dont really like the AP stuff. Patek is rad AF.
you’ll never see an RM in the wild.
I saw this on Facebook the other day. It’s a bit of an over generalization of the watch community, all they’re doing is following the natural procession of prices and equating that to what one would make. But it’s also not far off to some extent.
AP is basically a one trick pony with the Royal Oak. The code 11.59 isn’t as bad as everyone makes it out to be, I think it’s nice and a step in a different direction for them. Although I’d take a Patek over an AP any day.
Replace Rolex with Omega. You’re paying for the hype.
Also the Rolex “wanna be rich” thing is bull. If you can afford it, you can afford it.
Where is g-shock on that list?
Speaking of watches, anyone else see this?
That’s why I’ll take a ticker over a battery any day.
Thinking about a Seiko 5 to replace my Apple Watch, I’m over the smart watch thing and want to go back to old school. I don’t want a metal band though. Thoughts?
Any particular model you’re interested in?
I was looking at this one:
I definitely want a textile band, metal bands rip my arm hair out and I constantly hit them on things around the wood shop.
i bought that one for my son a couple years back.
