sat with a friend of a friend in Vegas. He inherited an old IWC pocket watch and sent it back to Shauffhausen for servicing.
IWC sent back a letter stating the movement was genuine and from like 1866 which was older than they have complete records for. The case was not original but a US-made case from somewhere around the 1930’s.

Have you considered doing pocket watch conversions
I guess none of them would be autos at that age.
Well, for the member I purchased this from here, probably a decade ago, its finally restored. Getting the case re-plated (gold) took longer than expected. Life and other projects got in the way of me completing the movement. I will most likely add an authentic Omega crown and looking into a different strap / bracelet.
I have 4 marriage watches. Love the concept and they wear well but are very susceptible to damage. No shock springs.
