Watch Crew: What to buy?

Some new additions since last allowed to post…..

@bing lmk if you want me to connect you to a solid watch guy I know in Buffalo. I have one down here in West Palm as well.

This is a buddy of mine down here:

Been getting the itch for one of these:

A slightly overweight balding Italian man? Should be reasonably priced.

That is an incredible selection in that link but his prices are at the top of the market. i’m not interested in paying top of the market. i want to pay well below. ideally msrp on 1 or 2 current sport models…

lol, I’m already bald these days! But a day-date on the other hand…

Hit up Mike at Biel Watches. He’s in Buffalo and typically is reasonably priced.

Haven’t really done anything in about a year, nothing is particularly “interesting” to me at the moment, that wouldn’t be just “buying a watch, to buy a watch”. In 2024, I added a new Pepsi on Jubilee and a Green Sub (Starbucks) to the collection. The only thing I felt compelled to add in 2025 was a new White Speedmaster. I think about buying a 126500 Panda almost daily, but I just can’t pull the trigger on a SS sports watch for 220% of MSRP, when the white speedy is essentially the same watch and arguably better (pound for pound and way better bracelet). I have polished center links on my Batman and it drives me crazy.

The market has kind of taken the fun out of it for me.

omg we have the exact same taste in wrist metal…lol

Market is insane indeed. I’m glad I have a “daily” one watch to wear although I’ve really been interested in a gold day-date. Not sure I can pull off the gold (hold the Italian jokes). :joy:

it’s the same as (tech) stocks and most status items. everyone who owns them is already rich and doesnt need to liquidate so the prices cant come down.

Can’t hide taste!

I even put an Everest band on my 41mm black dial Sub Date, which I believe you were an early adopter of Everest, if my memory serves.

Next up is an AP if I don’t buy a 126500. I’ll eventually liquidate everything and buy a PP Aquanaut and retire from the game.

holy frig i forgot about everest. I have a rubber B on my daytona. they last about 4 years before replacement. i am on my third.

This came in with a couple others yesterday. Found a beautiful A. Schild movement in there!
