Unless it is used, there is no such thing as a “deal” on a Hublot. Jean-Claude Biver has “strongly recommended” that all Hublot authorized dealers follow the standardized pricing structure set by Hublot. It is bullshit in my opinion, but the way that Hublot sees fit for their timepieces to be sold. God, I fucking love the Big Bangs! Soon enough…

Just curious what you guys think of Kobold watches. I just met the CEO. Probably the coolest CEO I’ve met. He was an undergrad at my school in 1999, and basically took school and said fuck it, I’m gonna make something that I want to do. So when he was 19, he mailed all the major watch manufacturers he knew, asking for an unpaid internship and there was only one man who responded in Germany. He learned the craft, came back, and started talking to watch component makers who let him accumulate some debt to get started. So he sat in his college room dorm, and made watches one at a time…selling them for a 25 bucks profit each. Long story short, he can now sell $5000-15000 watches (still handmade, all mechanical), and still personally hand deliver each one if he wanted to, because he makes those types of margins (and he has flown cross country to take one of his more pissed off clients out to dinner, who now owns 10 of his watches), and they do sell. He’s now 29 and moving onto his 10th year now, and his client list is pretty impressive for a college kid who got C’s and D’s less than a decade ago.

Picked up this ORIS Williams F1 this week.

When i got it the watch had a brushed stainless finish on it. The stainless band was brushed / polished link design. I had the whole watch polished to take out some scuffs… it came out wicked… and it was only $35 even though it took the chick 2 hours to do it… thanks

What is the definition of a “nice” watch? Diamonds and bling just don’t do it for me. Anyone can get that stuff.
