apparently the chinese are ripping off all of the famous ETA movements and making Shanghai equivalents. Brands like Nixon, Android etc. etc. are snapping them up and putting them on the market as though they are real watches.
Problem is that they run anywhere from 30+ seconds to several minutes off per day and they are not up to physical demands of hard use.
I have a skeleton watch with a chinese movement in it that came from Germany… the hands fell off once and the watch had to be serviced right off the bat… It’s been at the watchmaker twice in its first year… pieces of shit.
Considering how inaccurate and unreliable they are for everyday use you would be better off with a quartz movement in faux watches (Nixon).
I have been cooling it lately with the watch (and all other) purchases.

just picked up some genuine Omega leather straps for my Cal 265. (1940’s)
I actually bought a 20mm first by mistake so i had to go and buy the 18mm (the one i actually need) afterwards from the UK. I’ll save the 20mm for a future Omega purchase… if it can accomodate an Omega stainless deployant i can just buy that separately and use it on a Speedy even though i wanted the double-hump strap…

garbage… i have one. paid less than $300 for it, i forget exactly how much.
I had to have it serviced right off the bat and then the hands fell off of it and i had to send it back to Germany to get it fixed under warranty… at least they aligned the hands at that point.
You can buy mine for $200. It’s been fixed and serviced and works fine. I put a steel bracelet on it, not really happy with it still.
It’s a made up brand… dozens of companies rebranding chinese watches.
