lol i posted up on this page taht i purchased a 5130 also and its apparent that those who get off on watches think they are shit…but im happy with it and it has yet to show me the wrong time.
I love the 5130… so dope… i love how heavy it is.
yeah yours is pretty sick walker… and i say eff em cause i mean, who can even read black on black numbers at night :gotme: but i love it
hypeville… here is the pic i was looking for:
notice the minute hand where it shouldnt be…
Just got this one today.
thats a nice watch…
i’m bored this week… might up and buy something myself.
What are you looking to get?
i bid but lost an Omega Speedmaster Triple Calender today… i’m bidding on another one tomorrow…
just got my watch box in…
china skeleton, Omega cal 265, Oris F1, Seiko 5.
Will scrap the china skeleton eventually… Speedy next… then shooting for a swiss skeleton. Oris Artelier or a Zeno maybe
I also have an extra Omega 20mm strap and i scooped a whole wack of case backs including an Omega 10k gold one. Going to try and pull some custom shit eventually.
i was all set to purchase a used tag, however…
after reading that story about Michael Kobold and the Kobold watch company…I really want one. They are reasonably priced too.
I saw the nixon 5130 and thought it was a well made watch, call it ego…but I can’t try to pass myself off as a business man wearing a nixon.
your a car salesmen, not a businessman…i bet 1 in every 1000 people you talk to would look at what kind of watch your wearing.
Kobolds are really not all that reasonably priced. you cant get a decent new one for under $4k.
You can scoop up old versions for cheap sometimes… but always over $1000.
Nixon’s make me mad.
I’m not a fan of Kobold at all.
Buy a rolex, seriously if you’re only going to have one watch a rolex is the watch to have.
agreed.
i love mine.
That’s like saying; “Buy a Mercedes; if you’re going to have one car, make it a mercedes”
… well what if you don’t buy just one car? and what if you dont buy just one watch?
And what if you don’t want a Mercedes?
wow, i like watches as much as the next guy … but reading this thread makes me feel poor. $1k-$4k for a watch?? DAMN! but man are those some good looking watches, esp Joe’s Cartier
i wish i was a salesman.
My boss is trying desperately to get me into a Rolex.
He’s got a few. I really think I’d get a Grand Carrera, before I bought a Rolex.
Rolexes are well built watches. I have been more interested in some different brands lately.
i like rolexes simply because they are, in my opinion, one of the easiest watches to work on. very accurate for a mechanical watch. still will never beat the accuracy of a quartz watch though.
Rolex is often a total poser watch. On account of the strength of the brand it’s the watch that people buy who want a nice watch but aren’t interested at all in watches… i know dozens of people like that. They don’t even know what model of Rolex they bought. All they know is that it’s a Rolex and how much it cost.
I would not want to be mistaken for one of those people. Although, i will most certainly own rolex’s at some point in the next few years.
Whereas with an Omega, it’s not quite as expensive, even though they are trying to get there, but when someone spots your Omega they know you’re into watches as well. And everyone who owns an Omega knows exactly what model it is. I have had business associates from target accounts notice my Cal 265. in meetings. It sparked an important conversation.
It was quite obvious that i was into watches owning such an obscure Omega, whereas, had i had a Rolex on they would simply have assumed my dad bought it for me… ya feel? Kinda like that Cartier Joe…
