Some of us big shot FGGTS can wear watches we like and take vacations and see the world. :spunk:
i suppose i would go that route, i like the X-Wind Khaki, but i tried it on and it didnt feel that badass.
relax i wasn’t calling you a fggt, im just saying i dont see the point… to be honest. and you have to admit… buying something like that for the “status” is ridiculous, and thats just not me and never will be
I do not think too many people buy them for the status. I know I buy nice watches because they fascinate me and to be honest after owning a really nice watch anything cheap will not even feel right. The individuality, styling, and mechanical function are a few of the reasons people buy these. It is not just because of “status”.
Your argument is silly anything not necessary could be written off as status symbols by someone who just does not agree with it. Ferraris, large houses, boats, etc.
It is like anything else that someone likes that you don’t. It might not make sense to you however it does make sense to the people that enjoy it.
Did you just call yourself a big shot? The false sense of being a baller of some people on this board…:banghead:
The people who feel the need to try to stir shit on this board. :banghead:
I was replying to what was implied of the people in the thread.
PS I am not a big shot and certainly hope to be baller someday. As for now I enjoy my moderate success and toys but thanks for the concern.
i love hate.
i hate love
Not looking to stir shit, just calling you out…afterall, you did just contradict yourself a little bit by revoking your status of a big shot:)
I did not come in and say i was a big shot and you know it. I responded to people that have these types of watches being called “big shots” so I referenced it in my response. You are 100% stretching this attempted of a callout.
Although I have to run and meet a friend for lunch I am sure we can continue whatever point you think you are proving when I get back. BTW we are meeting at Dennys! I will wear my 4k watch and drive my BMW there. BALLIN!
<—Not gonna argue and get off topic…enjoy your lunch
hey… shut the fuck up and talk about watches.
this is not a thread about, “hey do you think watches are cool?”
this thread assumes that if you are in here that you DO think watches are cool and therefore will be adding to the discussion about how watches are cool.
if you do not like watches then go start the ‘fuck watches’ thread and hang out in there.
What Bing said.
Next one is receiving a Ban this is ridiculous that anytime people have a thread about “nice” things there is always some losers who feel the need to hate. This thread is for the people who enjoy watches. If not…take it elsewhere.
I just had a new crystal and new hands put on my Cal.265 Omega.
It looks great… just needs a light polish to the case and it will be mint what with the new omega strap already.
When i went to pick it up from the jeweller the owner’s son wanted to buy it from me… he brought our a Omega PO Seamaster, Bond Edition, but it was a Quartz… so no deal.
have a serious offer this week on it but not sure that i want to sell it… it’s the first really nice watch i bought and now that i’ve murdered it up a bit it’s got all this yucky sentimental value in it…
I had the chance to peak at the movement too… it looks brand new, no signs of corrosion or anything… it’s hard to believe it’s more than 60 years old.
Also… found the IWC homage i was looking for… another ORIS
44mm ,swiss made, 7750… easier on the wallet… looking at picking up one of a few potentials in the next 2 weeks.
day-date feature is a must for me
Breitling.
Nice find Bing.
i just overhauled a 265 on wednesday. great watch, very well built.
what would you say one is worth? i find watches are worth much more in person than they are on-line… as with most things of course.
i see them on ebay from $500 - $1800… tough to tell the difference really in the auctions though.
