Otto frei is a great company to deal with. We get a ton of parts and supplies from them.

On a different note…
That breitling is a little too gaudy and overdone. Most definitely an awesome watch but too many diamonds. But thats just my opinion.

Most recent addition.

Strap & Deployment For Sale

turns out i ordered the wrong strap… i’m trying to make it go now… i swear i will take a rotary tool to the strap to squeeze it in there if i have to…

so i checked out that place in Grimsby i think i may have mentioned in here somewhere. Please was bonkers.

It’s a typical jewellery store with crap citizen, skagen, Tissot crap in the showcases and nothing cool anywhere to be seen. You have to ask for the owner, which i did.

He brings out a couple $2 tupper ware boxes with a bunch of watches in plastic sleeves and gives me a few minutes to look through them… and this guy knows exactly what’s in there… i took a couple cell pics:

Rolex Daytona in 18k yellow gold with diamond numerals and a Patek perpetual calendar… $20k and $30k respectively… in a fucking tupperware box

I tried on a Seamaster Aqua Terra… priced better than Ebay… not sharing that though because i may go back and grab it

And the obligatory diamond Breitling

http://www.bings.ca/images/misc/Other/Watches/Harmony%20Watches%20(2).jpg

There were at least 4 Panerais, 4+ Bell & Ross, a dozen Omegas (seamster chronos, speedys, apnes, etc.), a bunch of other breitlings including a very sharp Navitimer date.

There was a gorgeous Daytona with the Zenith movement in 18k white gold on a leather strap for $14k with fresh service records from Rolex. A jaeger chrono with two release valves and a multi-city dial and so on and so forth… Sam… it’s too bad the U.S. dollar is shit right now… imagine going there 4 years ago when your buck was worth 1.5 up here?

The guy said he is a part of a wholesale group out of the US who meet every quarter or so and that he can get anything and everything for wholesale cost. A lot of the watches were brand new with all paper work, never worn, some were estate stuff, etc. etc.

They don’t get put in the showcases because there is no retial market for this stuff, he deals almost exlcusively with wholesalers / jewellers directly but allows walk-ins by appointment. I just got lucky that he was there today.

I don’t really want to know but what is the price tag on that diamond Brietling?

damn bing, that must have been a sight to see. I was at the jewelry store today and the girl helping us with some shit complemented me on my Oris. She knew it was an Oris from a decent ways away too, I was impressed. She was wearing a Tag. Then we had a serious conversation about Breitlings (the only watch brand they sell at this store). It’s nice to actually talk to people about watches in public rather than just on the internet.

i think that Breitling was like $7,800. Not that bad really

My newest piece. <3

Bing i definitely like that seamaster

yeah its priced under ebay too…

i just don’t feel like buying another one right now though, otherwise i would already own it

Beck, nice pick up yo

I’m back Bing.

I hate diver bands, but the watch itself is real nice!

Whats the general opinion on Welder Watches?

I’m getting my SCUBA diving license and picked this up. It’s a TIDE watch that tells me High and Low tides.

Does anyone know of a watch repair shop around buffalo that can pressure test watches for water resistance?

I’m looking at a used watch and won’t trust it under water until it’s tested. Thx,

Doesn’t that Dakota Watch kiosk in the McKinley mall and I think Galleria pressure test?

these are in the same category as TW Steel and other watches that are stealing off of B&R, Pan and other big, meaty, man-watches.

better than some but at the price point i think you’re getting a china movement in a over-stylized case and paying a premium for it. i could be wrong though, even shit companies have swiss movements in some of their watches now.

you’re joking right?

PMed

Yea I was a bit skeptical about the movements, I think im gonna hold off on that and pick up a BR-03-92-Phantom soon…

Its my dream watch
