Are there adapters to put a wider strap on a watch? New watch has a 20mm strap but I think something wider would look better.
Or are there straps that are 20mm but get wider?
You can always buy something wider and notch the ends so it will fit between the lugs. It doesn’t always come out looking good though.
Rich, that Hamilton is using a lot of generic numbers and hands… the exact same that show up on redialed Valjoux movements like Zeno and others. I’d recommend going with ORIS over Hamilton.
I would also suspect you can get that watch used on ebay or WUS for half CDN MSRP and save teh tax too.
yea i wouldnt buy the hamilton new…good deals come up on watchuseek.com all the time, though. If you can get it for 3-500 on WUS, go for it. Else, get a used Oris. That’s exactly what I did. I bet I paid less for my used Williams F1 2008 than what that hamilton retails for in CDN.
not sure if i ever put up pics of my speedy on the cordura strap i picked up in Seattle at the Omega boutique… It was nice to be a watch store with employees who were actually MEN and who actually LIKED watches and KNEW what the heck they were talking about… not like 150% of the jewellers out there who employ 50 year old women who not only know dick shit about watches but also never had the wherewithall to buy their husbands a nice piece or even take the time to know about what they are selling for thousands of dollars at a time… /rant

oh… and i checked out the special BASEL Edition Rolex’s as they came through a local Rolex dealer. Owned by family of an industry contact who sent us an invite… so they actually let me try on a $58,000 platinum President.
The President of Rolex Canada, Victor Something, was wearing one of these when i met him last winter.
The face is slightly icey-blue, a finish only available on platinum Rolexs.
Ive been looking for a vintage Omega Seamaster for a while, picked one up will take photos in near future…
Will probably be up for sale soon I don’t think I’ll like the gold…
thank the lord someone bumped this thread… jeez people need to buy more watches and make picturetime with them.
WUS is slow as shit in my browser so i stopped going entirely.
Bing this is a smaller scale like most vintage seem to be, gold, manual wind …let me know your offer once I post pics:P
I also just picked up a vintage Seamaster Deville and I bought a flame suite on Tag Heuer F1 Grande date. I absolutely love it btw lol.
I’ve picked up a few lately, but didn’t bother with pics since I thought this thread was dead.
well post em! i’ve got a vintage automatic vostok amphibia and the seamaster on the way
nothing here, and probably not for a while
I’m not into super-expensive watches, but my gf got me my favorite Nixon 51-30 Chrono for my birthday and I absolutely love it. It’s a darker than it came out in these ‘HDR’ iphone pics.
surprising, youre a baller.
Vintage Omega. Just got this one last week.
Cool look. Size?
Forgot to post an update on my IWC: the winding mechanism started to spin freely (read: broke). After previously having Matt (95d16turbo) who works at Buffalo Watch & Clock in Hamburg take a look at my Rolex I figured I would reach out to him. I found out he enlisted in the army (thanks again for your service), but his dad is still running the shop.
I sent the watch in with a prayer that nothing major was wrong, knowing a watch that is over 100 years old does not have a parts catalog. I got a call back the next day that it was a couple loose screws that he tightened down and she was back running like a top.
Summary: If you need something looked at give them a call

He is a quick pic with the new strap
looks cool! what kind of $ do they ask for to look a watch over like that?
looking good bigron
The Omega is 42mm.
