Having all new band pins put in my Oris after having one come really loose. So loose that the watch fell off in my pocket.
Interesting my Oris has done that before as well. How much does that run?
Found an independent watch shop to put a more secure but less “pretty” type in all spots for $20. They don’t all sit super flush but they will never come loose.
i had my Oris fall off me one time too.
so how come no one has been buying nice watches lately???
where’s all the recent buys?
I’ve moved a couple, purchased a couple. I’m really not that into it anymore.
nothing crazy over here, but I’ve been getting into vintage pieces lately.
again, nothing high dollar (i’m a broke student)
currently wearing a 1950s Benrus pointer date
at the watchmaker for a cleaning is a 1940s Gotham Gothameter chrono
I tried on a Vogard Radiator F1 until they told me the price and I shit myself…looking into lot less expensive TW Steel Lotus F1 watch now
I haven’t bothered posting anything recent since this thread seemed to be dead.
no more reps for the stable?
I have a few watches I want to sell below… Sorry for the horrible pics; if there’s real interest I’ll get some better ones.
This one was a gift from an ex-gf. The watch is essentially brand new. Wore it maybe 3 times, other times it stayed in it’s case, where it is today. It’s not a baller watch at all but it looks nice:
Armani Exchange AX5002
here is a stock photo:
Sells new for $185.00 + tax. I want $100.00.
Next up is my TAG Heuer Automatic 2000. I’m undecided if i want to move this purely because of sentimental value. It is authentic, still have the box and manuals, links, etc. It has normal wear on it but no scratches.
stock photo:
Sells new for $1,095.00 + tax. I want $700.00.
Once again, i know these aren’t baller watches like some of you have. I’m not a big watch person. I’m testing the waters and the prices are what I’m willing to let them go at. Thanks.
The Tag is a good entry level watch for sure.
damn I was hoping that TAG was a different model
TW Steel looks cool, but $500 for mineral crystal and quartz movement is pricey
Anyone have info on cleaning watches? Specifically the stainless bands? DO jewelry places do this?
^
Soap and warm water is your best bet.
What model are you looking for?
I bought turbo_dreams Tissot he had up for sale. Getting used to it. Not a bid watch guy, but learning to enjoy them again.
Also picked up Kings Seamaster over the summer…for when I need to look distinguished and important.
i like that you’re buying off the forum.
get the acrylic crystal on that Omega changed, it will pop it back to life in a big way and it’s not expensive to have done.
the tissot is great for when you knock your arm into a concrete wall, scratch your watch and then think… whatever, just a tissot.
i mean that in as good a way as i can though.
So i emailed the owner of Harmony House in Grimsby about an IWC i’m looking for and if his web inventory is up to date. He responds:
Hello Bing
Sorry no 5001 right now
New watches coming and going all the time not all make it to the web so please do stop in, best to call or email before you come to make sure I am here.
I am off to a watch show in NY this weekend and will have new merchandise towards the end of next week.
Sam, Beck, anyone else cool and into watches… wanna roll in there next wednesday? i have a few buddies that will want to go too.
