I’m down to check some watches out. I’m probably done buying for a while though.
boooo…
Time to reign in the spending…
Ugh, I shouldn’t. I mean, I will. But I really shouldn’t. After about two months of not looking at anything, I’m back and in a big way.
What have you picked up lately?
last time i was in there he had a nice Omega Co-Axial Seamaster on steel that would fit my extra Omega straps perfectly, if he still has I COP DAT!
so i went today with a buddy of mine… this place is so friggin awesome. the guy has upgraded from tupperware to actual watch carriers.
now, i have to apologize, i picked up a new Bold 9900 and for some reason the camera will not focus so all of my pictures are shit… i would love if someone could help me figure that out.
so this was one of 3 cases he had full of watches… it is the least of the cases… but i didnt want to take that many pics…
for reference, the bentley flying B’s in the top left are $4,800 each, new with papers.
the navitimer is $7,500, the big pilot, bottom left, is $10k and the 18k ferrari pan top right is $16k, msrp $30k.
all with papers, some new, some not.
i had to try on the pan
the other cases has some Audemars and Pateks… ho hum
and i did get a new watch… we had a few made for the partners in our company… again terribly sorry for the shit pic…
i don’t have mine yet, it’s on the way, i’ll have better pics when i get mine in.
PVD Sub, black diamond encrusted… definitely not something i would have conceived of on my own but it will grow on me and be a great bling bling watch on occasion. need to find a genuine rubber strap / deployant for it… anyone have any leads on where to get that kind of thing? all of my internet research is based on omega stuff.
You should change your sig from “build a drift car” to “buy a watch”!
bing, that’s some baller shit. The diamonds are a bit gaudy, but i love the pvd
Since I can’t leave well enough alone like a little kid, I dug out a REALLY old fake Rolex Explorer II that my dad used to wear (before he got the real deal). This thing is probably like 10 years old and it still runs. Not bad for a Chinese POS. This was the result:
I wan’t de-rolex it (already scraped some paint off the face where the rolex logo was) and do some kind of fun mod(s) and put it back together. No real goal here other than to simply experiment with ripping apart a watch, personilzing and putting it back together.
Actually, I’m not even sure if I know how to put it back together, but if some 12 year old chinese kid can figure out how to assemble it, then I damn well ought to be able to figure it out.
If I do end up figuring it out, and it turns out decent, then maybe I’ll move on to upgrading the movement to a something Swiss.
just picked this up…sure to make all you watch people cringe
is that a wu-tang g shock? lol i like it
g shocks are solid, they have quite the following. i doubt you’ll find many luxo auto guys drooling over them, but to each their own.
You need to diversify your bonds.
id rather proteckt ma neck
Is there anyway you can trade it in for face value and get the cash instead?
I’m not a fan of anything other than standard or two tone Subs. Anything else whether it’s PVD or “one off” is meh. I wouldn’t put a rubber strap/nato on it. If it’s diamond encrusted, you’re going to want to keep the stainless band on it. A diamond encrusted watch with a nato/rubber bad looks horrible.

Rolex doesn’t make a “genuine” rubber strap.
It’s either, oyster, jubilee or presidential bands.
I’m sure someone makes a leather/rubber deployant. Check out everestbands.com
The nice part about submariners are that the bezels are REALLY easy to swap out. You can actually swap that out with a swiss army/butter knife
If you’re too scared, take it to a watch maker/repair guy. He’ll probably swap it for cheap/free if you’ve bought there before. Can’t be too hard to source a more plain PVD bezel. That’s the nice part about the popularity of the submariner. Set aside the bling and keep it fresh.
Swapping it with a standard stainless black sub bezel would probably look TITS.
Dam you I clicked the link and now I want a Chopard - Mille Miglia again
Do it Bing.
Small bend is easily fixable http://www.ebay.com/itm/Black-Rolex-Submariner-GMT-ceramic-bezel-original-/261118162616?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item3ccbdaf6b8
edit: just noticed that one is from a GMT II. might be the same, who knows I’m not an expert.
Not the same bezel (markings wise).
yeah i figured that was the difference. Case is the same I’m sure.
At least for that price you get the actual stainless bezel. Bezel inserts seem really easy to source.
