well turns out the “automatic” i bought ended up being a swiss quartz movement early model u-boat.
the seller was very remoseful and sent me a full refund and ended up giving me the watch for a price i couldnt refuse…

yeah trust me i feel VERY lucky to have purchased it from a stand up guy…i seriously sent him a pic of the movement and within 10 min had a full paypal refund

It does look phenomenal. Now that I’m looking at a much clearer picture, I can say with almost certainty that is not a replica. Especially because you can tell the markings/numbers aren’t printed on, but rather over-layed on. Gorgeous piece and I’m jealous of the price. Let me know when you want to sell it.

took a friend to my guy in Grimsby to pick up a Breitling Flying B Jump Hour:
not my style at all but a nice piece.
These things MSRP for $14,500 or so in Canada (Breitling is overpriced up here) and he picked it up brand new with all papers and warranty for $9k off that 
Probably because it’s heinous.
Breitlings as of late are getting very “meh” with me. Half their stuff is ghetto fabulous.
Sad, but true. Breitling used to be one of my favorite brands. I do like this release from SIHH though.

I agree for the most part though, I see them in the case at the jewelry store more often than I care to, and I really don’t care for many of them.
I’d love to pick up a titanium avenger chrono seawolf. I really liked my steelfish when I had it. Now it seems like everything is blingy, chromey and all the brothers think its the hizz-nay.

I still can’t get over how heinous that square-faced breitling is. For the same money he could’ve picked up a gently used Milgauss.
It’s sad that Canadians have a really horrible taste for style in wristwear.
There are a ton of watches I would prefer at that price point over that Breitling. All sorts of IWC, Panerai, JLC, GO etc can be had for sub $5k.
this was over $5k but I feel you. It could have been had on ebay for less but breitling are more expensive in Canada due to a monopoly on distribution.
i think that is pretty unnecessary coming from a Subaru owner
