What are you looking to sell?
JLC, Rolex, IWC mainly.
what IWC and Rolex’s are on the block?
IWC 3536-1, GMT2C, SS Daytona.
how much you want for the daytona?
the three watches easily fetch 20 g’s. lol. got too many watches at the moment, otherwise would be interested in the gmt.
Almost spot on.
pm me for pricing on GMT2C
Anyone have a good site for Rolex faces?
I have a datejust that I never wear that looks like this:
But I think if I swaped it with a blue face like this it might get worn more.
Thoughts? Also, should I go with OEM? Benefit/issues
One OEM link cost me a $125
Rolex in some circumstances will do it, but they are going to require you to service it. It’ll probably cost you ~$1000 for everything. I personally, wouldn’t want someone other than Rolex opening it up.
The real answer and you probably don’t want to hear it… trade it/sell it and buy a model that you like. There is NOTHING worse in the watch world, than a frankensteined Rolex with aftermarket parts. Factory/stock is the most desirable, unless you’re ballin on a budget and drive a $3000 car with $3000 wheels.
Based on your year/condition, etc…you could probably swap yours and buy a newer used one for the difference of a couple grand.
That about covers it.
That’s what I figured. Had it serviced by rolex when I first got it since it was pretty rough and now it is like new but I paid plenty. Can’t sell it since it was a gift, so I guess it will sit in the winder and I will wear it a couple times a year.
It’s a very timeless piece as is. Wear it and enjoy it.
i agree with most of what Beck said but i’d reserve it for internal components specifically; the dial being an internal piece since you have to open the watch up and disassemble it entirely to do that job.
can you even get that blue face in the same size as your watch? the blue face is from a more recent Rolex that is likely wider.
No, no internal or external. PVD coatings and diamond encrusting or anything else non-reversible makes the watch worthless.
which is why AP, Hublot, Breitling and Rolex among others have gone all out on diamonds, interchangeable straps, PVD coatings, carbon fibre add-ons etc.
you’re a traditionalist is all.
i had my Rolex appraised for more than triple what the standard Submariner goes for… it wouldn’t be hard to trade up with it.
when I was in Vegas the other week i visited all the watch boutiques and was chatting up the guys at each. regular Rolex’s are too common now, same with breitling and Hublot… the manufacturers are hustling to make their popular models more exclusive. redoing them with diamonds, precious metals (platinum, gold etc.) or all kinds of other stuff is becoming the norm. some of them are awesome too. I saw a brand new Breitling Transocean in 18k rose gold with a diamond bezel right from Breitling… it was incredible actually.
this is the closest image i can find to it:
Yuck. Not a fan of the bling

As a guy who’s owned a couple Breitlings, I’ll never buy one again. They’ve become a little too hood/gangsta for my blood.
it’s a new world. American and European businessmen are not driving the industry anymore. it’s people in Asia and Russia and other markets that are driving all of the growth and they want blingier shit.
The Richard Mille store started at $105k per piece and even their most basic model is over the top by most standards… then they are integrating green diamonds and gold dragons and shit and charging $700k AND GETTING IT!!!
and the women’s line from Rolex is obviously meant to cater to asian dragon moms with too much old money that they couldnt possibly spend it all in one lifetime. i forget exactly what i saw from them but it was an orange gemstone and diamond encrusted Rolex with a tiger on it… like you couldnt even tell time with the shit… and it was well into the 6 figures.
Also, appraised doesn’t equal worth. If I’m understanding you correctly, you think your Sub is worth $25k?
