No problem. Go forth and be merry! Either way, you won’t regret your decision.
My biggest reason to buy a Rolex is when I want to upgrade, I can cash it that day for basically what I paid for it. After selling three Omegas, unless you firesale them, it takes months to sell and you’ll always lose your ass.
just want to say that i read every word Beck typed and agree with it all.
the Rolex economy is always strong. Personally i would only buy second hand to prevent losing my ass on selling an Omega.
I believe that since you had to ask the question you should find a good second hand PO with full kit and save the couple grand. Buy it at a price where you are protected from any major loss a few years down the road if you decide to sell.
What do the reps go for out of curiosity? Long term I’d like a basic black sub for many of the reason’s Beck mentioned. They’re traded like a commodity and hold value so consistently.
The 10 day power reserve on this one ran out on the 6th so I had to wind it before wearing this morning. Maybe this should go in the first world problems thread?
Soooo… rumors suggest that the Apple iWatch will release with the Edition model in 18k rose gold with a 18k gold bracelet and it will be north of $10,000 and perhaps as high as $20,000
After the gala announcement event in September at which Apple introduced Apple Watch and whatever last year’s iPhone was, I ran into SlashGear editor-in-chief Vincent Nguyen in the private hands-on area Apple had set up for select members of the media. When we got to the Edition models, Vincent said, with some excitement, “This is going to cost $20,000.”
i guess it does make some sense and i would be impressed if they do this because it will really expose some of the illusion in the price of swiss watches. really curious to see what the impact will be. so outside of the box too. i would have loved to high five the Apple people who first incubated this idea and then put in the work.
most other sources are assuming the 18k version will be $5k roughly
buddy of mine wants to sell this… he is local (to me) so your dollar goes further. just waiting on more info from him. He bought it from Harmony in Grimsby and recently upped into something else.
Yes, I know. The cheapest is the Watch Edition with a sport strap, while the two most expensive (38mm in rose gold or yellow gold) are priced at $17,000.
It’s also a piece of technology that will need to be replaced later with a newer version…
Didn’t want to start a huge debate, I really don’t care if it was $2k or $50,000. Just curious to see what everyone thinks of the price point. Much like the Ford GT thread, I’ll never own one so it doesn’t apply to me.
