Honestly, I don’t see how it could be interpreted any other way. Really, I mean more power to you if you want to drop a few thousand on a watch, but at the end of the day, it tells you the time (and whatever other BS features you feel you need). I don’t see it as a symbol of status, nor does it impress me to find out someone spent that much on a watch. If anything, it almost makes me question their sanity, and why they finance other expensive items they own, due to prior astronomical investments in the telling of the time.
