Yeah, the football stadium type events are usually reserved BIG acts that need to sell a lot of seats. A year or two ago we had U2 here in Raleigh, for example, where they needed a football field for capacity.
If they have a good venue, they might be able to draw a few big acts. It won’t really make the investment worthwhile, though.
On that note, perhaps having a much larger venue will allow for bigger acts to come to Buffalo. However, the issue there is that you’d be competing with Toronto which is only 1.5 hours away.
I was just in Omaha and Louisville both of which had similar downtown issues to Buffalo they both went the route of creating areas set aside to redevelop with places to shop/eat/live and build out around there.
Similar to elmwood but in the actual city with room to build out.
You can’t rebuild a city around attractions that only bring in business a handful of times a year
agreed 100% This will not be a catalyst for saving the city. If anything, improving the city and raising revenue (through more people and business occupying the city and paying taxes) should be the catalyst for building the stadium.
