Haha, can’t help you much…weather is pretty unpredictable down here…I’m sure it’s the same in E-town.
It can be totally sunny one minute, then shitty the next. Anyway, I did hear on the news that we’re suppoosed to have a nice warm spell…so maybe you’ll get lucky
lol i have those same tires…and with ANY amount of snow on the road, I couldnt even get into the garage
the weathers been decent, we just had a big dump of nice fluffy flakes, but yesterday melted the roads pretty good. Just some packed snow on sidestreets that should be slush by the time you get here.
I’d say just drive careful and you should be alright!
Driving around on tires like that in the winter is just stupid. You are just asking for an accident. I wouldn’t be trying that on a road where a family of four just got killed because they lost control.
Dude I didnt say I was USING them right now, I said I HAVE those same tires, im using a set of arctic alpin’s right now and they work great. :?
geeze i should start proof-reading my posts to make sure I don’t get under anyones skin
i dono if you’ve actually been driving at all but edmonton main\general roads are as dry as it gets, very little snow on the side, like hella little thats turning to slush, not even gravel, most of the residentials are ok too other than somes that are not cleaned
major highways like 2 from edmonton to calgary is maintained regularly and according to the internet they are as dry as it gets
weather been plus, no snow yet no edmonton side, that’s why i am asking calgary side…
and DNA GP’s can handle dry bare roads even with little wet surface… and no i dont drive my car thru winter or shitty roads, been friggin spring for the last whole week…
aannndd show off ? lol , its nothing to show off haha, stock ca18, all the parts are sitting in the storage right now
Still a stupid idea IMO. Theres still lots of roads that are icy, all it takes is a cold night, or a little sprinkle of snow. A Celica almost rearended my a couple weeks ago, and he had hardly any control of his car, and it was fwd. Guess what… he had Z rated tires. Think of winter or all season tires as insurance.
lol now that I read that post it sounds like im yelling! didnt mean to sound like a dink just put emphasis on those 2 words! Hey man by showoff I mean thats one of the cleanest sil80’s around damnit, be PROUD!
Watch the news. There has been probably 10 people within the last week that have died from losing control on the highway. I don’t know why you are being an ass, you were looking for peoples opinions on the weather and your tires, and I am giving you my opinion. I just hope if you do crash, you dont hurt anyone but yourself. Stop being so ignorant. Your tires arent meant for the conditions of the roads at this time of year. The Firebird that killed two people today is a perfect example of that.

It’s hitting plus +10 with sun in the sky and dry&bare roads , if that is not good weather and driving conditions for summer tires, i guess i should just sell them off now…I’ve been driving in the city for the last 2 days throught out some day and overnight minus weather times and tires are still fine, yea its not suitable for spirited driving but tires works pretty good on harsh sudden braking situations…I am not being an ass, i am taking a calculated risk, and no i am not going for a spirited drive down there, i’ll keep it at 110 straight on highway 2 and everybody should be fine. and if i hit bad weather, i’ll turn it around and come back…
I guess its my bad with starting a thread that i already knew the answer for, all i asked was 1st hand weather\road situation in the city of calgary from some calgarians and I get a lecture on safe driving…
Exactly, you are taking a calculated but UNECCESARY risk. Why someone would want to take a risk like that is beyong me. But maybe being a journalist and having two brothers that are paramedics has jaded me.
If bad weather hits, you are going to turn around in the bad weather and come back?
You arent going to understand what I am saying anyway so forget it. Be careful…
in calgary right now, never seen dryer roads in february before, it was way too hot in highway i had to roll down the window, weathernetwork.com = good info
