purdyyyy

is that stainless?

looks like crush bent mild steel to me

how much does a set like that go for new?

304 stainless

$1000-1100ish for headers

The catted X pipe setup is $700ish off road X pipe is $450ish

I’m going chinese when I do it because they make the same power: http://www.ebay.com/itm/OBX-Headers-Full-Length-05-08-6-0L-C6-Chevy-Corvette-/161266383710?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item258c39bb5e&vxp=mtr

I have gone the cheaper header route before and decided against it.

Marylandspeed had a really good package deal on the intake/headers/x pipe with free shipping

yeah, that package is nice… I guess it will all depend how wealthy I’m feeling when its time to pull the trigger.

thoughts on this?

my thoughts are meh. what’s wrong with the stock stuff you have now, I haven’t made mine fade yet.

OEM Z51 front rotors are like $60 each (quick check on rockauto), get the carrier and upgrade to those and throw whatever pads you want and it would come in under the cost of that kit probably.

I might actually go with two piece if the weight drop is significant.

They will be, the the value for performance will be poor compared to spending money elsewhere like on lighter wheels

i thought vette owners were always wealthy?

Generally speaking… 1) Old wealth chasing after their youth 2) Young folks pretending to be wealthy.

I was going to go with option 3.

You can’t beat the price vs performance and instead of buying a mustang/F-body if I put 10k into this car I won’t see the same level of loss I would in a F-body or similar.

You know there’s no hate on speed here. Just saying traditional advice implies there’s a time for your money to make more money & a time for you to blow said profits on toys. The other side of the coin is who knows how long you’ll live, you could soar onto the 33 tomorrow.

these are 30k cars (the good ones) so it’s not like you have to be wealthy or old to get one. the fun for the money factor is off the scale for me so far, I’m enjoying it a lot more than I thought I would minus the lame jokes/stigmas.

Just ordered a set of Potenza RE-11’s and the Z51 sway bar kit

I wanted to ditch the run flats but also wanted more traction even those these are more of a road race/autox tire they do ok for drag racing etc.

still waiting on my X pipe :frowning:

Re 11s are a great tire

Yep, save save save so you can spend that money when you’re too old to enjoy these toys. Wait what?

I loved having a road race type tire on the rx7 with the Nitto NT-01s. This style of tire increases straight line traction a great deal and also allows for the car to still handle as it should. Good call.
