What a bitch!

My Suzuki has nearly 50k miles on it.

I need brake pads. This will be the second set I’ve put on, and I’ve already cut the rotors once. I figure it’s time to buy a set of front rotors, and maybe upgrade to a little better brake fluid.

Well…

Advance Auto, Pep Boys, and McCandless Auto list NO rotors for my car.

Two Suzuki dealerships stock NO rotors for my car, but they can order them for $97 each.

I called a performance brake shop about any performance options for my car. The guy emailed me back with a Raybestos replacement rotor part number, and McCandless can order the rotors for $64 each, but it’ll be a few days.

Fucking cars.

I’m going to get some decent pads while I’m at it. The brakes are a little undersized for the car, so I don’t want to buy cheap shit. Any downside to ceramic pads? Any recommendations? I’ve found plenty of pad choices.

-On a side note, I sold my wheels and went back to the stock 15"s. I put Falken Ziex ZE-512s (195/55/15) on and they’re a thousand times better than the shitty Kumho Ecsta ASXs I put on in May.

ceramic pads don’t absorb much heat

wtf would a suzuki need ceramic pads? i have the same problems, OEM pieces and dealer prices FTL :frowning:

Note to self: Don’t buy a car from a company that is more well known for dirt bikes. :kekegay:

My brother put ceramic pads on my mustang in May, and I hated them. They felt worse than the brakes before, that were worn and wouldnt pass inspection.

ceramics wear better and dust less. i put them on my durango cause i wanted better pads for trailer

I have Hawk HPS pads on the Z. Love them, best part is no dust! You can get them at pep boys, not sure if they make an application for your car tho…

hawk hps pads are nice, i have them on my 325 and m3

Not sure that Hawk has pads for the Reno.

Maybe try Green Stuff:

EBC is back-ordered on the GreenStuff.

It’s looking like Raybestos ProGrades(?)

i run the ceramics on the jetta and 240… just the cheap ones from advanced. I think they work great, and the lack of brake dust is awesome.

Any noticeable increased rotor wear?

Can’t say I really monitored it, but no warpage or anything of the like. Nothing I can feel at least

thats the price you gotta pay when owning a performance machine

:bowrofl:

i got the greenstuff on the Z and i love them. a little noisy when i have the windows down and going thru the tubes at 100+ but other then that they brake awesome
