Hey guys im just trying to sort some shit out with my series one rb25det.
I’ve had the motor in the car for over a year and i have never touched my ecu. When the motor went in there was confusion of if it was the right ecu but was later told i had the correct ecu and i belived them becuase it was a reputable shop. SO now im putting hte aem in my car and need a coolent temp senesor i dont know where to find one for a skyline thought it was off a 300zx tt would of work nope. So nissan looked up my ecu to check for the code for the coolent temp. It appears instead of having the RIGHT PROPER ecu which is a RB25DET i instead have a rb20DE ecu in my car. No fuckin wonder shits been messing up.
Now from what you guys know what else should i check that could of been damaged or changed somehow becuase of the wrong ecu?
i dont think any thing would have been damaged since u were running at stock boost pretty much, but i do think you should get the right ecu for your stock setup, and run the car stock, and then get the aem in there after…
Its always a good thing to get the car running well on a stock setup, and then mod later…otherwise, if u have problems once the aem is in, you are even more confused !
thanks alot dan i just called my guy and he said he dostn want to re calibrate it to work he rather have the proper sensor. if i cant find it i guess last option would be to recalibrate another oe sensor.
