What car should I get? STS-V? Other options I haven't considered?

Price range and mileage/year/warranty will put this out of reach

Yep, 06+ cayenne turbo would pwn but if I was spending that much I’d just get the CTS-V that I really want.

More comments on the STS-v
Wheel/tire - staggered 255/45-18 front / 275/40-19 rear also the 6 lug fun so little to no affordable winter rim set-ups
Does have a cool heads-up display

I am hoping to see the 2009 CTS-V market drop 5 G’s in the next 4 months with winter and more supply hitting the market.
If not, I might go Zo6 or something none GM or I might drop the extra cash to get what I want.
Sucks since I could have had a brand new 09, December of 2009 closeoutfor mid/low 50’s and now 2 year old ones are going for high 40’s. I guess I played the market and lost.

I’ve been getting a strange fix on an Audi B6 or B7 S4 recently, right around all your criteria. I think the styling is better and the interior is nicer, 6 speed V8, meh, I love them.

My next ride was going to be a Brabus K8 until you posted that… I’m so torn.

Lotus Elise?

No Elise, too small, uncomfortable, and I imagine it would blow in the winter. Also I like torque and don’t care about handling.
How are S4’s on reliability and maintenance?

Best ever…better than a Honda…

Took a road trip today and now have it narrowed down to two options.
2006 STS-V
43k miles- under GMPP warranty until 60k
Anal 66 year old owner that babied it and is willing to deliver it for the cost of gas
I drove one of these today and was amazed with the power in the supercharged Northstar. Got it accidentally sideways within two blocks.

2008 Trailblazer SS
41k miles
Exactly like mine in every way, except a year newer, with nav, and certified so 12 month/12k warranty. Super clean.
Could keep my 4X4VETTE plate and not be stuck with choosing shitty orange or a plate that makes no sense.

STS-V would end up being $2000 cheaper out the door. If I get the Caddy and don’t want to drive it exclusively in the winter, I can extend my TBSS lease until 3/31 for a grand. Next winter I would be on my own. Have until Monday to make a decision.

That sts-v is sweet. Awesome color. I choose that.

If you don’t buy the SS tell my where I can buy it lol

Been really thinking about picking up one of those(STS-V) since I read your post UNTIL I looked at an interior pic tonight. It looked downright horrible compared to the CTSV’s and I’m not one who is into interiors at all but That CTS’s is sooooo nice. Would have to see the STS’s in person I think.

How is this even a choice? STS-V. Why get the same car again? I could see if you had a regular TB and wanted to set up to a TBSS but to go from one TBSS to another is pointless IMHO

Hopefully Joe has a better Carolina adventure then you did

lol. that was such a fail.

lol STS-V interior was actually very nice in person. unfortunately i saw the black/red and what i’d be buying is the tan. at this point im leaning toward buying the caddy and extending my SS until end of March to help me thru winter if GMAC wants to cooperate…18/19 staggered wheels with weird sizes arent conducive to picking up snows.

Both awesome dd’s but I LOVE my awd(quattro) so i vote tbss if it is AWD, you sure its not a 2wd one?

No lighting package (HIDs), no dynamic/ventilated seats, no distronic cruise (although very hard to find), no parktronic, no sunshades, no panorama roof, no electric trunk. Still a nice car, but if it were me, I’d try to get one with more options.

I’d go with the STS-V. I see TBSS’s all the time. I think I’ve seen one STS-V around here.

TBSS is AWD.
GMAC will extend my lease, but for $200 a month more than my regular payment. :fu: Looks like if I get the Caddy, I’m gonna have to attempt to drive it in the snow. Making my decision today-tomorrow.
