Installed cheap eBay heated grips today.

Also put the R1 throttle on the drz.

Is there a noticeable difference with the R1 throttle ?

Compare to the stock DRZ grip it’s night and day.

The grip however is bigger so it feels a little funny from left side to right side.

I also bought both R1 and R6 grips to put the debate to an end on which one is smaller and I’m not even sure which one I put on :lol

They looked pretty much identical besides where the stops were and had just about the same diameter where the cable went around.

For all I know they might have the same pull amount (either 1/5 or 1/6).

Not sure how I’ll get to test it now but I’ll figure out what I can. (I actually ordered 3 grips, 2 r6 and 1 r1, one R6 is on the SV and I’m not even sure which one I put on the DRZ :lol)

Im actually looking at snagging ex-member MK430Rs bike and it has the R1 throttle tube on it. Thats why im curious.

I think your should use the R1 tube, cause I know it is better. R1 is better than R6, everyone knows that.

Bike’s back together with my “winter” mods…:rofl. Going for a shakedown.

Looking to hopefully get a Full M4 with Ti-mid pipe for 2013 season with a tune, but will be doing the QT throttle for sure and I need a new set of tires.

However before any mods I will need a new lid and gloves. If all the planets aligned and I have some $$$ left may be spend it on some toys like a QS, a camera or a data logger. :slight_smile:

So I will need to save 2.5~3k before the 2013 season starts…:’(

I bought & installed an M4 about a month or so ago, love it. Probably won’t do anything over the winter. Fluid change in the spring.
