What did you do to your car today?

Hydro-locked my car last night. Elliot came to give me a hand, thank god I was a mile from his house. Had to push the car 300 feet uphill in about 16" of water. Went back to his house, completely soaked. Grabbed a jack, creeper, flathead screwdriver, 3/8 ratchet, extension, and 5/8 plug socket. Pulled the plugs, pulled the hot side piping, drained water, jacked up the opposite side of the car to get the water out, put hot side back on, took cold side off TB, cranked engine to get water out of cylinders, replaced plugs, started with pipe off TB, revved for a lil bit to blow water out, put pipe back on.

Did all of this in pouring rain. It blew. I got a decent amount of water in my oil from the incident, which sucks because I just did an oil change less than 24 hours before this happened. FML.

:ahh:ahh:ahh:ahh i saw a hydrolocked STI near my uncles house and passed a purple lambo diablo on chrome rims being towed on rt7 and took a photo(with my phone) of a half drowned stratus. TONS of cars in water. makes me sad your car got a boo-boo is your intake super low so it sucks up water?

No damage, I shut it off when I saw how deep the water was getting.

My intake sits at the bottom edge of the front drivers side bumper, about 4" off the ground.

I was tailgating a tahoe going about 40 on old loudon road and he didnt slow down for the water, I didn’t see it coming.

Thats how my intake was on my Mitsu too. I learned not to test water with that car. never hydrolocked it once. Kid that bought it from me, cracked the front bumper, bottomed it out and hydrolocked it within 3-4 months of having it. makes me sad hes not taking care of that car.

Shampoo’d the carpets, vacuumed the inside twice, shampoo’d and vacuumed the trunk carpeting, detailed the trim, cleaned the inside windows, and conditioned the leather. Looks brand new again and smells purrdy. :excited

#1 reason why I relocated my CAI to behind my headlight and removed it from ~3" from the ground. Not DD practical in Upstate NY with weather like this.

In front of that church/school whatever the fuck it is by the overpass… There was definitely water there… I had about 4 gallons of it in my intercooler/piping

Yeah, I try not to drive in shit like that but I had no choice… The only reason I have the CAI is to free up space under the hood. I think I’m just gonna rock a screen on the inlet next year.
