Chris I saw you pulling onto Lisha Kill the other day, and now I’m wondering if this other kid with the red Cobalt is the one I always see bombing around and mistake for you.
If it is me your mistaking for the other chris, mine is not an ss.
Overheated it on the northway on the way to work. I had to get off the northway and luckily I had a jug of drinking water to pour into the radiator. After that it was ok and I made it to Clifton Park. The radiator was almost empty.
I really cant tell where its losing coolant from because its dark and my flashlight is half dead. Im starting to get really pissed off with this car too.
Well I had to get to work and back. I stopped as soon as I could this morning and put water in it. The other times it was parked and it didnt overheat the rest of the day.
I found a hole in the bypass hose and replaced the hose but now I cant get heat in the car. Its running and the radiator is full and sometimes spits out coolant. The hose from the radiator to the thermostat is limp and cold. Im hoping that its gonna be ok because that wasnt an issue before.
Fixed or so I think/hope. The hose was definately shot. It cost less than $10 and a few gallons of coolant.
The warranty doesnt cover hoses so no point in taking it to a dealer and getting raped in the ass for a repair I can do.
It wasnt getting any heat after filling the system but I just had to manually bleed the air out by squeezing the radiator to thermostat hose because it wouldnt come out by just running the heater on high. Now its got heat again.
