Stealing this idea from another forum I’m on, I liked the idea that people posted up smaller projects or even just routine maintenance that they did that day. Keep the posts related to CARS, BIKES, SLEDS, ETC.
It’d be nice to see which members are still active in the automotive world, still getting their hands dirty, ya know…being men.
But shortly I will be heading out to route new coolant lines for the tunnel cooler I installed in my sled and try to install the throttle bodies which will be a bitch from what I hear. Then start running the harness and that should carry me into the time I’d want to go home and eat.
Yesterday, I wrenched on my dads car, Put a Kenwood Headunit in and wired up his factory steering wheel controls to work with the new unit, I installed his winter wheel combo and threw new pads and rotors on the front, then buffed out his headlights so they look new.
Today Im installing a factory nav unit in the audi, and hopfully pulling/replacing the down pipes, also throwing brakes on a friends civic.
Nothing today.
Last night I threw a Carbonio intake on my MKVI GTI though. Nothing special, took 20 minutes. APR tune in the new year then pretty much just quitting there. I regret selling my MK3 VR6, I’d love to be wrenching on that throughout the winter, whenever time permitted. Maybe next year I’ll pick up some kind of project to toy with.
Hmm… repairing the egt probes on my Audi in about an hour. Finishing the detailing job i started on said car 2 weeks ago. Then going over my snowblower again to, make sure that all is still well with it.
Finished wrenching on my sled (in snowmobile season thread). Never had a garage and now that I have a shop, I’m making up for all the wrenching I missed out on in the past. Never realized how relaxing it is, even if my knuckles are getting busted a little. Can’t wait till the heat goes hot on Monday.
All factory decals. Nice and clean cause I let my buddy take a rip across the field first ride last season and he rolled it first pass so I ended up with a pretty good list of new parts including a whole new cowl (which I think cost upwards of $ 800.00). Arctic cat made a few different variations of this sled that year. The Fighter Jet comes in a black version but never saw one in person. The Joker or Blackjack one looks cool too.
The Spyder…pulled the head off after 2 months of it sitting there, anticipating a full rebuild, to find when the timing belt went, all the valves were closed and caused no damage to head or pistons…im done for the day though. its freezing outside
ahah nice sled, just picked up a 1974 skidoo olympic 300, pulled the carb off before coming down for christmas break gonna run some new fuel lines and install a primer
