What modern autos will someday be classics?

That M5 has 154k miles? Damn. Milage IS slowly becoming meaningless.

150k is nothing to a e39 m5. I’ve seen multiple come through Towne when I worked there with 300k+

I mean as long as a car is well taken care of. I’d rather spend less on one with 150K and think about pulling the motor for a refresh to my liking then spending big coin on a low mileage one i’m afraid to drive.

This pretty much validates everything we already know about manual trans:

“In addition to the rarity factor, manuals were often used differently,” Mr. Nonnenberg said. “Automatics were daily drivers, and manuals tended to be second cars. They usually have lower miles and were sometimes better cared for.”

“In a future where outcomes are ever more decided with an algorithm, people will seek the ability to make their own choices,” Mr. Hagerty said. “The rarity factor is certainly there,” he added, “and being able to drive a manual is a badge of being a true car person.”

i want a god damn manual gallardo

i think a manual V10 R8 is a better bet than the Gallardo but either or really.

@bing I remember you talking about some manual Ferrari in Canada that had limited numbers too:

Last month, that auction company sold a 2007 Ferrari 599 GTB Fiorano for $692,500. It was one of just 30 built with a manual transmission for that year, and it cost about $313,000 when new. To put the sale into perspective, the Ferrari brought three to four times what a comparable car with an automatic would have realized.

Yes that is the exact model and spec I was referencing.

Unobtanium and gorgeous. This was Ferrari’s top of the range when I visited the factory so it hits a special spot for me.

I just hope prices stay the same over the next few years.

$25k… Classic car?

totally worth it.

It’s probably the only one on earth that does not smell like weed.

My 92 Miata only has 78k on it, it’s crazy how much it’s grown in value compared to what I paid for it.

Nice to see the Camaro on there

Any Subaru holds its value. My daughter really wanted an Impreza hatch for her first car and I ended up going to Ohio to find a clean one for a decent price.
