What perks does your job give?

I was just thinking about the true benefits I have at my job, and was wondering how it stacks up to other people on here. At first I thought I got great benefits, now I think I can do better or the same anywhere.

I can’t mention where I work in a public forum, but I’ll tell you the basic perks. I’ve been there for about 2 years…

2.5 Weeks Vacation.
Tons of manager approved time for leaving early (sent early with pay)…
6% 401k Match, fully vested after 3 years.
$3000/yr educational grant.
Health insurance runs about 50 per month.
In office gym for 15/month.

The usual paid holidays and 2 weeks vacation + personal time and sick time

i get to use the gym whenever i want

Vacation time, Health coverage, unlimited access to a shit ton of tools and opportunities to travel

considered perks by others…i consider them to hinder creativity and brain activity.

So it’s a large corporate bank with a location in Buffalo.
Why can’t you tell us who it is?

They put a hold on 401k matching. So I will say paid vacation at my sales per hour, holidays, and they hired me back three times LOL.

I have been working 1 year as of last Wednesday. When I first started right out of college I received:

  1. 2008 Chevy HHR with Gas/Oil Change card to drive from my house to work

  2. Great starting pay and hourly so I am free to take overtime when needed.

  3. Travel for work which cover all 3 meals, get paid for the time traveling if off hours or weekends, and some entertainment

  4. Required on call about one week every month and a half but get paid 3 standard hours for the week just for the inconvenience of being on call and then any call you take is pure over time.

  5. Laptop and Cell Phone (Pay 1/2 my iPhone ATT monthly cost since I use it for personal too)

  6. 18 personal days off the first year I started plus 9 company holidays

  7. Ability to buy any book or take classes for any product we sell if I need to or want to

  8. 401k with 4% match

  9. Great health/dental/vision benefits

  10. Small company (< 100) sales/engineers/customer service employees that deal with international companies such as Praxair and Sodexo

  11. Wear jeans every day unless I meet with someone

  12. Flextime so I can come in at 9 and leave at 6 if I am up late or come in at 8 and take overtime

  13. One raise per year and two bonuses per year (even got them in December)

Also, 403b matched + 2%, more vacation & sick days than I can use. But what’s more important is that I spend a lot of time just shooting the breeze with faculty.
