So heres the deal, since i was young i always wanted to have a motorcycle… now being 18, i have the chance to pick up a 2003 yami r6 special edition for like 4 grand. The thing is in mint cond. with low miles. I could turn around and sell it for 5 grand anyday! So heres the thing… the g/f said if I ever buy a bike she would leave me… not cooll… she said something along the lines of “i’d feel guilty if i let you get one and you got hurt…blahblahblah”… if you guys were in this situation…what would you do?
p.s. I race snocross and motocross for a living… shes used to watchin me do dangourous stuff… so is this her actually caring about me…or is this her scheme to keep me from spending 4 grand and buyin her stuff…
Buy the bike. You only live life once. She should be there for you in all of lifes descisions. If this is a descision that you want to make, then she should support you. It doesnt mean that she needs to like it, she just needs to support you IMO
if she’s hot, that means you have the capability to get another hot chick. just get the bike anyway. Just promise to not drive 120+ in traffic. (go right ahead if you’re confident and there’s NO TRAFFIC though.)
Sign up for a rider safety course. You’ll learn plenty, and help put G.F at ease. If she is trying to control you, this relationship is DOOMED. If she is just scared, that is genuine concern and caring. Promise not to drink and ride, no “stoppies” etc., if she still balks, HASTA LA VISTA BABY! Enjoy your new ride…
um YEAH. think about it. there are OLD PEOPLE on the streets. traffic lights/intersections/speeders/maniacs and inexperienced drivers. the streets are much more dangerous than any track. in my opinion.
anyway. get the bike. be safe. aka watch out for “the other guy”
