1 question that solves the riddle to this . Before she bought the car did she take it to a mechanic to have it looked at? If not then she is SOL. Had this happen to a friend of mine. The judge said it was his responsability to have it looked at before purchasing and ruled in sellers favor.

Its like $50.00 to have professional look at the car before you buy it. Not to sound like a dick but people need to check there egos at the door and have someone who knows what they are looking at look at a car and quit being so cheap so you dont get stuck in these situations.
