you certainly can. i just got back from the garage. it has a new idler pulley and serp belt.
i still need to toss on the new water pump, and i have a new timing chain tensioner for when that needs to be done (its still well with in spec).

The TR trim has a slightly stiffer suspension, limited slip rear diff, and 4 pot front brakes. It has less luxury so the price is less.

The brakes are the most interesting thing to me, older style Sti brakes, i.e. Group N rally car.

I left the suspension thing alone because I thought they were talking about the older WRX’s vs the 06+. But thats not what we are talking about.

If you aren’t familiar with them, there is no reason for you to try and correct everyone on a car you don’t know much about.

I like my saabaru but do wish I had the 4-pot brakes. For some reason, I’m thinking the rims, the '06 9-2x didn’t come with the upgraded brakes but still has the 2.5L 4. The STi drivetrain is a major difference like dozr stated, for that reason alone your better off. They want a lot of money for the upgraded diff’s.
