i rear ended a civic, my front end is all fucked up, lights don’t go down, i need a new front end! the autopac guy says they might not fix it if it costs to much. so i figured i could cut the cost down by buying a front bumper, hood and headlight+ cover. i don’t care if i have to buy these parts, i just want the front end fixed.
this is what i have come up with. reasonable priced, being i don’t have a huge budget.
headlight covers - 100$
hood - 300$
bumper - 190$
i figure these are not bad prices, i have never bought these parts before so i don’t know. they are well under the qouted price for oem parts. might as well pimp my car on thier tab right?!?!?!
if you know a better deal on a “better” looking part let me know i will check it out and decide if i like it. otherwise let me know what you think of this. they say they have other styles but i havn’t recieved a response yet with the pictures i asked for. it is the week-end after all.
a chuki one? i’m not very familiar with these jap terms!
for free install i figure that not to bad, it doesn’t brake my wallet and my car gets a new look. 600$ installed isn’t to bad. if you could see the 240’s here. the one has a front bumper that looks like it was put on with duct tape, it’s just hanging off on the driver’s side, all scuffed up. looks horrible. this will look alot better then that…
as for headlight covers, I would skip those in favour of complete assemblies, cause you’ll likley need full assemblies with the pivot arms, brackets etc…
That hood, except for the extra vents over the strut towers looka nice (too bad the pic is green)
That bumper, not bad, but a civic you hit… may be better off with a full assembly again with rebar, because its likely bent.
And you may be very dissapointed when that fibreglass bumper (speculation based on experience) dosen’t fit over your rebar, be specific when ordering to ask this, I got a nice silvia fibreglass bumper ony to find out either it or the rebar had to be cut A LOT to make it work, then it wasn’t long enough to wrap around the fenders so the fenders need to be cut shaped wleded.
A stock front end can look really good with just a nice hood, or even a stock bumper with a bings lip (different than a Nelly’s lip - subtle difference but I prefer the bings)
$600 for cheap fiberglass isn’t safe. Imagine ramming into that hallow civic with those parts. I saw a coupe here for $450, take the front end and sell the rest.
I think it’s a come back of fast and the furious, next thing will see are massive dragons. I say do what you want, but if the rest of the body is stock just go with oem and a lip
yeah osad is right… u can most definately find the pignose ballin cheap maybe even free. and hood and fenders maybe 80 bucks if u look hard enough. That ebay stuff is kinda shady I would stay away from that
i really don’t like the color of my car. i have always wanted a gloss black, and get very mad and jealous when i see a nice looking black 240! not really, but you know what i mean! i was also worried about the color matching, but then i remember that IT"S NOT ME INSTALLING THIS STUFF. it’s thro autopac, so what it it’s hard to install!
s13gg, did it atleast look good when it was finished?
it’s not like i have to pay for the install. it’s gettin done by a pro shop for free, so i figured why not get something different then oem. i say different in so that when i come outside and see my car it will look different then it did b4. i’ve had my car for awhile and would like to change up the look. i’m looking into mirrors and tail lights, some day a spoiler.
i’m gonna take some advice from this page and slow my driving down. i’m not gonna race around anymore, i’m just gonna cruise. so there will be no more rear-ending civics!! i’ve been in one accident in 6 years.
if ebay isn’t a good route, i can’t see why there fiber glass would be any diffrent from someone else’s. i bet there is some cheap kit’s in the store as well. but either way, where would i buy a this stuff? it will have to be shipped. where did u guys get your stuff from?
i’m gonna look into the headlights but i think they are a direct bolt on. auto pac is gonna pay for the motor and arm and all brace’s. i’m just gonna buy the covers.
all parts come in primer, they are not the color on the car!! car is example.
As for the question…
I personaly like the hood a lot (not the car colour though.)
edit as for places to get gear, your lucky if you can find any bodykits you like off ebay. If you can, expect to save a couple hundred. The two most interesting sites I found to check this kinda stuff out are on
Mind you, I’ve never bouht off these sites before, but they seem to be the best places to search for stuff.
As for shipping, some will ship via ups…or in most cases freight train if it’s a full kit
and lastly…
When did FnF looking cars or “pimping” your ride to your liking become such a negative thing. It gets looks and more often (if done right) are the positive ones. Hollywood wouldn’t have created those cars like they did if they knew people wern’t goin’ to love them.
The headlight covers a hidious, and pointless. the bumper is a ricer reject from the late 90’s. Thats will be the genreal opinion of most of the board.
thats solid, i wanted a blue scorpion on my car to match my tattoo(I’m a Scorpio)
i also like the hood! i might be pimping my ride but I’m not going to be putting in xbox’s and 6 screens!!! my alternator can barely handle the sub’s! never mind that shit!
i figured the vented cover would give under the hood some fresh air. being the filter is right behind the light, cold fresh air would go straight to the intake. the cold air kit I’m buying comes with a heat shield. i don’t know if the shield will do anything but i see it’s purpose. the vent would help give cold air to the filter. thats how i see it. I’m not buying it b/c “ooo it’s vented headlights, i got 40 vents on the front end alone man!!” thats not what I’m doing here!!
