you dont need to put the wheel in a box. Just cover both sides of the wheel with cardboard and wrap it in shipping tape.

I wouldn’t ship a bare wheel like that. a wheelwith a tire on yeah, but not a bare wheel. truck loaders and delivery drivers won’t take note of the lips.
BJ’s, walk in and ask for a heavy box, they throw them out all the time.
