yeah, that thing sucked before. with MP3s now you get a little more control…the track forward/backward button they should have had a long time ago. if you hold down the side up/down, you can change tracks with that, yet still change volume if you tap it. now you can also drop the memory device for the media player to 5mb from 12mb, which frees up a ton of RAM making your phone slightly faster.
close to, yes. you have to backup the entire phone, then OS upgrade, then you’ll want to restore all your data. the OS upgrade takes the longest of this, and it comes close to an hour especially if its your first time.
if the rapidshare links go dead - RIM hates this beta shit getting out - then find the site to search rapidshare and get creative. i have been running this for a little while and build .52 is solid as a rock. we have it on a 8320 and we have i think .45 on an 8820 and have found little to no bugs. many overseas carriers are using this on their phones, US carriers seem to want to wait another month or two. i also suggest reading an OS upgrade guide if this is your first time, just find one on a blackberry forum or something.
some of the CDMA 4.3 shit has a few more extra features, but 4.5 still blows 4.3 out of the water. because they were so late in getting the phone i think they put whatever they had finished on.
So don is it safe for me to do this on my vzw curve or should I just wait, I don’t, have the time or patience to have to deal with verizon if somwthing goes wrong.
you’ll be fine, everything backs up. just be patient and read a guide. just make sure you get the right OS for your phone. don’t be afraid to google around or check the blackberry forums to make sure you’re installing the right shit. i have never done a CDMA verizon curve but just make sure you get the one that works with yours and it should be simple.
